His team hasn't been invited. As simple as that. Being a french race ASO favored french teams obviously.

Corendon-Circus didn't get an invite. Flanders is run as part of a consortium of organizers called Flanders Classics. Paris Roubaix is run by ASO (Amaury Sports Organization.) Those organizations control which teams race and usually there are only 3-4 slots available for Pro Continental teams like Corendon-Circus.

[SARCASM]I doubt ASO is all that interested in admitting Corendon-Circus when they can have instead powerhouse teams like Delko Marseille Provence or proven winners like Cofidis.[/SARCASM]

You can see why Wout van Aert was willing to throw caution to the wind and use the messy merger of Charles and Roompot as an opportunity to break his contract and sign with Jumbo-Visma. A lot more racing opportunities and thus a lot more exposure. But then this arrangement with Corendon-Circus may work well for MvdP given his interest in and proficiency at UCI MTB.

MvdP was punished for wearing white shorts.

My comparison to Sagan was more complement than criticism, to be clear. I tend to enjoy the kids who are endowed with strength well before savvy.

My impression of Sagan right now is that he is tired. Still outperforming a lot of people but missing a cylinder.

It was decided vdP would not race P-R before the start of the season.
ASO would have loved to have him (French mother; Poulidor grandpa).
    He will be missed Sunday.

Great! Her interviews are a form of performance art. The one she did from the ground after the climb at La Course 2018 while bawling her eyes out while speaking truth to the gods is a classic.

Cecilie rules! She should be interviewed after every race, regardless of her placing.

    Here's that one.

Between the two clips she displayed more personality in five minutes than I probably have in the last 20 years

Yeah, so now the team is saying something is wrong. Aru was just diagnosed with narrowing of the iliac artery in one leg. Cavandish has been battling Epstein-Barre virus and after effects for over two years. Fingers crossed this is a malady with a more straightforward remedy. Like a long nap.

What's with Trek and whatever BMC turned into? Aside from Greg VA being there or thereabouts (but a long way off his best), both teams are practically invisible.

Maybe, but his wheel isn't pointing in the same direction his handlebars are??

I agree that in black shorts he probably would have won!

It just means the mechanics torqued the stem bolts accordingly.

Two teams made mostly of good quality super-domestiques and classics podium finishers.

What is Greg Van Avermaet's last win? I think it is the overall for the Tour of Yorkshire in 2018?

I think both suffer from team management issues where each is trying to capture lightning in a bottle for too many of their riders. They signed people based on best year performances that may never be repeated. Good riders no doubt. But maybe not team leaders.

And there was illness in Trek-Segafredo last year. And injury. Richie Porte continues to be fragile.

The white shorts were to distinquish him from Bob Jungels (for the team radio) from the helicopter shots according to his dad.

Watching P-R on the NBC Sports app on my Roku. No commercials!

Miss Paul Sherwen’s comments. Bob Roll is better than I remember him.

They are approaching Arenberg, which I expect will shred the field.

VanAert making a strong little turn to make up ground after a mechanical dropped him from the lead group in the Arenberg. Wow can he move through traffic.
