Remember the 89 or 90 edition when it rained the whole way and Sean Yates managed to forget to drink in a two man race long break away?
I remember he was asked about that and he simply said that he didn't take a drink because he wasn't thirsty!

Kirsten Wild's sprint was impressive. Her upper body didn't move at all.

Is it just me, or does Sagan look leaner than in the last couple years? Eyes on flanders?

Such courageous riding from Sagan et al yesterday.
My thinking is, he felt he needed the hard-hard effort with the eye on the next 2 weeks and the result was secondary.

Van der Poel takes Dwars door Vlaandern in a rather convincing way!

Yes and then shown shaking hands with Jungels and Lampaert in slow motion afterwards as if to start some rumors.

The women's race was poking along and they had to stop the men's breakaway and peloton. It killed the continuity of the racing just before the climbing started. They need to get the simultaneous racing under control and leave gaps for any scenario imaginable.

I can't wait to see Van der Poel in the break with Stybar and Wout at Paris-Roubaix.

Turns out the race was actually started late by officials and then there was a crash in the neutral zone that required a stoppage, ending up with start of racing being 10 minutes behind slowest predicted schedule. The men's race was on earliest predicted schedule and there was a crash in the women's race at the base of the Kluisberg that required two ambulances, so that was the immediate reason for neutralizing the men's race, but yeah, the organizers appear to need to add time to the gap between starts to ensure neither the men's or the women's races overtake each other (Dwars here with the men and Omloop earlier with the women being neutralized to prevent overtaking.)

I really like Van der Poel's Canyon Aeroad bike. Very dapper, no risks taken with the parts.

I'm excited to see Quick-Step's strategy tomorrow but I don't think they'll employ the same Jungels & Stybar combo that they did at E3.

Van der Poel looks so calm and collected.

I would like to see Avermaet ride well

I'm going for a long ride during the race tomorrow but will try to tuck in a cafe to watch the last kms.

    Who are y'all picking?

Hoping for Sagan. I'm a big fan and have been since the beginning of his career and I hope his relatively quiet start to 2019 just means he is building form for the major objectives - the Monument Classics.

Hard to believe his career is now nearly a decade in. He's no longer the upstart kid but at this point a seasoned veteran and older than many of his rivals.

I am shopping around for a new bike and have been on the fence between a BMC Roadmachine and a Canyon Ultimate because of MVdP. He is good marketing!

VdP broke his wheel on road furniture and then crashed. Now chasing back on but he’s a long way off.
