Most exciting one-day race of the year this weekend. The last 50 km of Milano-Sanremo are hard to beat for speed and attacks and great racing in general.

I won’t see it live unfortunately but I hope for a great race with a worthy winner.

My favorite is Paris Rubaix, but Milano-Sanremo is a close second... Definitely the best racing of the season!

I'd say fortunately I won't have to watch it live on TV.

Nokere race in Flanders was brutal yesterday. I counted 6 crashes in the last 60 km I think. Racing if it was a monument. Glad MvdP did not break his bones in the sprint. He sure knows how to fall at 60 kph.

As in we are living in a great era. We can enjoy our own rides and family time then watching the races when everybody sleep.

I agree completely with your "great era" remark. Back in the '80s, race reports were something you read weeks to months later in cycling publications. By the '90s we had internet text reports and daily 1/2 hour recaps for TdF stages. Live racing coverage came in the 2000s. Today we can watch almost all pro tour races live or watch the replays later at our convenience. I can't wait to watch MSR live this Saturday morning from the comfort of my living room. It will give me something to enjoy instead of grumbling over the 6-10" of new snow that will cancel my morning ride...

He rolled like any good motorcycle racer would except he did it without the assistance of a structured leather suit.

Nice finish. How'd Alaphilippe do that?

Eddy Merckx: "Why do you ask me that? Why do you think I'm here? To watch the others win?"

It turns out Degenkolb's bike hopping fury on the Poggio descent was due to a dropped chain on...wait for it... a 1x groupset. Must stink to be a guinea pigs for a corp trying to shill a fundamentally bad idea, and doubly so when you work so hard to position yourself going up that climb.

    Voila-phillipe!

Kwiatkowski was doing stuff like this a few years ago before he became more of a super-domestique. Nice to see him up front again. I hope they cut him loose more often.

Argument sounds similar to the "carbon wheels can't stand up to roubaix" banter from several years ago which has since been silenced. Any product development has casualties--part of being a pro is being a product tester. I will agree that mechanicals, whatever the cause, suck.

Part of the Roubaix argument was carbon being too harsh for it.
Apart from the risc of chain drop because of the more acute chainline on a 1x, there must be more friction losses as well in the 11 (10?) they ride in final of the MSR .
    Bad idea imo.
ps If van Aert would not have closed that gap to Trentin.

An amazing individual run of success, coupled with on-going team success.

Evidently the knuckleheads with the flares along the road managed to burn down a sizable chunk of the vegetation.
