With Sagan going to the Giro the Tour of California becomes less relevant as he was one of the biggest attractions IIRC.
As to the Giro, the mountains are great but has anyone else come to the conclusion that these races have almost become too mountainous? In this regard the Vuelta has almost become extreme.

That , together with the smile Jose de Cauwer had in the commentator booth of Sporza when Van Aert won that sprint in the Tour.
