    Default Zukas Cycles

FINALLY got my long awaited ZUKAS CYCLES cross frame and since no one else has started a thread of my friend Nate's work, I though I would.. There are several of Nate's works floating around the southeast and I'm sure it will grow from here..

I'll be getting me a Zukas when funding allows. Probably have to wait till the wife is done with grad school though...

Finally built up; still needs some bar adjustment and steerer tube cut down. It's been raining too much for the first ride. :(

I like the effect of your leaving the stainless parts bare and polished on the flat black bike.

I'm sure yall are getting tired of seeing my bike, but I'm not tired of riding it.

First bit of mud for the day. The mud stopped me, I got off the bike and it stood where I left it.

We found more mud throughout the day.

One thing's for sure, there aren't a lot of options out there for color coordination. That's pretty darn close, though.

It's definitely a bike. It feels like a regular road bike and is surprisingly snappy. I wasn't expecting the frame to be flexy or anything, but I figured it would feel a little more sluggish with these tire and low pressures. But it doesn't. Some quick observations in no particular order...

    - Of course it's not as light as most of my road bikes, but it's not too heavy either.
    - The transitions on the fade are much more subtle in person than in photos.
    - There are nice little touches and details all over.
    - The TRP fork has a gentle curve to it that pairs perfectly with the curved stays. And the internal hose routing is so tidy looking.
    - Thru-axle is sweet and makes perfect sense for a bike like this.
    - The hoods are super comfortable and the large bump at the end makes for a great extra place to hold on to.
    - Shimano shifting will take some getting used to.
    - Hydro disc braking is really good...no surprise there.
    - A true compact is totally out of place here, but I know it will come in handy in the mountains.
    - The Ritchey NeoClassic are nearly perfect. The drops are a little longer than necessary (and I guess they could be trimmed), but the hook shape is awesome.
    - Even after seeing the photos from Nate I was a little worried about the pink. It's a bolder choice than I usually make. Seeing it in person...no. regrets. at. all.
