Going to go with style copied from Jorn's black frame, with slight variation on the stripes. Falz fork is a nod to DP.

Enjoyed a cold, wet, windy Rapha rcc ride today. The group was smaller and the fitness more uniform compared with our usual bigger group, so the pace was high today and there was some good suffering.

It was nice to get on the Zank again. This is the first time I rode it with some lightweight carbon wheels, and man, is the ride smooth and explosive. Coming from my all roads bike, I always have to readjust how I take slow turns on the Zank because it has a fair amount of toe overlap.

Nice. What kind of wheels are those? Looking at some carbon rims for my own bikes....

Yes! These are a season old demo set that I got for a silly price. I wanted to train in them in the rain so that the next time I get caught in the rain, I know how these wheels will handle. Surprisingly, the carbon brake track works really well. It is not remotely close to what my disc brakes feel like, and not as good as my Eurus, but I think it is still safe to ride.

The wheels are just aero enough so that I can feel some benefit, but not so deep that I can't control my bike when it is windy(yesterday's ride had 15-20mph winds). The ceramic speed bearings are super smooth and the freehub has a much quicker engagement compared to my dt240s. Right now I am rolling some some michelin pros, which have been my favorite since 1998. In the spring I will throw on some latex tubes.

This bike is ridiculously, obscenely capable. I feed it garbage, it makes it into creme brulee (that's Masshole for crème brûlée).

I'm not feeling well, in way over my head on roads I've never seen before, all alone in the middle of nowhere. But the thing just goes. The switchbacks come, tighter and steeper, pavement is barely there, strewn with debris. Push the bar into the turn, back off the brake, and let gravity take you for a ride.

The road rises and there are plenty of gears to lessen the sting of the grade. Or just stand and beat that little bump into submission.

This thing is crazy good. And purty too.

    Zoom, zoom, Zank.

This bike has a very wide operating range, it’s comfortable doing many things. It feels fast doing many different things. It rarely seems out of its element.

But it does have an element. And when you're in that element, like a dirt road with twisty corners and rolling hills, it just begs to go faster. The thing has complete composure in the rough stuff at ludicrous speed.

It's still blowing back my hair every time I ride it.
