    Default Thanks

Thanks for sharing your story. I lost my beloved little sister, Dawn-Marie, to cancer two years ago. She left behind three pre-schoolers and a husband. Hours alone on the bike have been my primary means of grief therapy. My sister too thought I was a goof-ball for riding as much as I do...she loved mocking me in "that spandex nonsense" as she called it. Nothing will ever take away the pain, but there is something in the rhythm and strain of riding that masks the pain inside, at least for a while.

    Best,

    Robb

Marco; beautiful bike and a story that unfortunately is shared by many. I still wear my LS band for my aunt and godmother who survived non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and breast cancer, but still struggles with the effects. For her and for her son, I will always fight and live each day for the gifts she has given me and her loved ones.

Every hour, every minute you ride, you honor your sister and her bravery, as well as all who fought to live and all who sacrifice in the name of those who suffer from this disease and hardship it brings.

Bless you. Tomorrow is a new day.

    -Dan

Default After the first few test rides

Still trying to figure out the stem length and searching for the right bars for it. But, after the first few rides I am very pleased.

This was one of Mike's personal builds that he had to let go. Luckily I was in the right place at the right time to be able to grab it from him.

I can't wait til next year to get my road build from him.

    Thanks Mike.

What bars do you have on the white Zank (above) now?

Hey, there it is! Sure looks better built up than sitting in that damn box! White is the new white. Congrats...I'm sure I'll be seeing a fair bit of that rear tire this season.

    Default Major Zank love....

While I posted this in the Max Project thread, I thought everyone would appreciate the double shot of Zank love.

Here's the new Zank. Mike got it back from paint today and it'll be sent to Casa Mia soon!

Looking forward to building this up.

It'll have a mix of silver Campagnolo stuff. Partly by design and partly just 'cuz that's what I have sitting around. I have a set of 28/32 wheels with Velocity rims. I'm going to eventually have them rebuilt with box section tubulars, hopefully Nemesis rims, and live happily ever after, never ever lusting after new equipment....... riiiiiight.

Ride report to follow. But it will be a couple weeks 'til I get home to assemple this.

I like it too. I found some others on Mike's most excellent blog site with the same color. And I wanted to pay a bit of homage to my old and departed Peugeot.

I went to Mike's shop last year in MA and we talked for a couple hours and he watched me ride around on my Look, which I like a lot. So we tried to kind of shoot for that fit and handling.

I'm excited to have it painted up. Classic looking color. Timeless and not dated.

Default finally dry in New England

Since the roads are supposed to stay dry in Boston today I decided to take the A bike out for a spin. Man, I wish I had another one so I wouldn't feel guilty about riding this one in the nasty weather.

    Thanks!

It's gonna be fun to build it up. But it won't be for a couple weeks..... I won't be in Michigan for probably 2 weeks. Still, looking forward to it!
