Once stitches are out he's getting fitted for a new kick ass custom prosthetic leg. 3D printing, lots of engineering, and carbon fiber involved.

Had to put this guy to sleep today after a long battle with cancer, lasted 8 months from initial diagnosis. Made a strong recovery after the partial amputation but lungs couldn't take it long term and he let us know he felt like crap. What a shitty way to spend a day... but glad he has moved on and not suffering any longer. Had a great 6 years of love from him :)

    IMHO
I eat domestic animals daily and still love my pets. Does that make sense?

In a logical sense it seems inconsistent but that's people for you. For me getting a dog changed my views and ended my consumption of meat (mind you I was 90% there already).

    Not really

It's a thin line, lots of animals can be our "pets", therefore saved. It doesn't seem fair to me

Right! As long as your premise is that we hominids are mostly walking contradictions, no problem.

Sully is as close to a cat as you can get in a dog. Well, he isn't a dog exactly he's a Standard Poodle so we forgive him for this.

10 months at a rescue while I learned to walk, started working, crashed on couches, and found a home. 10 months later, I'm so excited to get him back. He's really what got me through all of this.

    Z-Boy, welcome to Dogtown.

The eggsact opposite of a country-western song. I'm sure I can make a music joke to go along with that, but I can't figure it out.

Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.

What happens when you play a country record backwards? You get your girl back, you get your truck back, you get your dog back...

Congrats Chase. Can't imagine going through all you did without your furry partner by your side.

Phil showing his high five technique. Had to leave him hanging for sake of the shot.

Ahi posing and waiting nicely for the treat that I'm holding in my mouth.

This one captures his personality better. Pretty much an every morning occurrence.

Said goodbye to the yellow one two weeks ago. 13 years and 1 day. She was born in Texas, lived in New Orleans, Carlsbad, Alameda, and Italy, and came home with us to depart from her home of origin. She had a great life, but there will forever be a hole in my heart.

Charger is the first standard we've shared our home with. What a hoot. He's a natural comedian.

The second is our nearly nine-year-old yellow lab Scarlett. She's looking worried in this photo (while Charger sleeps) because the movers are packing up our house. The photo was taken in July, right before we left Carlsbad, CA and moved to the snowy tundra wastelands of the Bay Area.

Hell yes, chase. Maybe someday I'll have the chance to buy one beer for you, one for EddieBirdsell and one for your dog.
