those of you who don't like this thread probably
wish you could just tell us the name of your bike?

is that all for this group?

Here's Riley. He's a 4 or 5 year old (that's the vet's best guess) Lab. My wife and I got him last year. He's a rescue and had a pretty tough first few years of his life. He was beaten and neglected and then dumped in a high kill shelter. A rescue org got him out and then my wife and I adopted him from them. Despite his past, he's an extremely sweet and loving dog. It amazes me how resilient animals can be. He loves to play with his chew toys and chase tennis balls and he follows us everywhere. He's still understandably a little shy and hesitant around strangers and may always be that way, but with us he's a normal dog and we can't understand why in the world anyone would abuse and mistreat an animal. It took him a bit of time to get settled in with us, but now he's pretty attached to us and we are to him. We couldn't imagine him not being with us. The happiness and excitement that he shows us when we come home from work is mindblowing.

This picture was taken about 6 weeks after we got him (so last December). He was so happy to be running around outside and chasing a tennis ball. He's a lot of fun.

Sorry for the crappy picture. I took it with my cell phone (that's my shadow in the lower left), emailed it to myself, and then a friend at work just converted it to a jpg so I could post it. The picture doesn't quite show just how big he is: he's about 85 pounds of pure muscle. But he's as gentle as can be.

This is...ahem...Moots. Go everywhere, do anything, as long as he is with the pack dog.

    Default Oscar

Came home from a business trip two years ago. Children waiting eagerly on the porch (odd, as they are teenagers). I assume there has been a fight and they both want to make sure I know it was the other one's fault. They drag me into the house, sit me on the couch and inform me that Sunday is Father's Day...who knew?... They make me close my eyes so they can give me my present early.

I open my eyes and here's what is staring at me:

    Smaller Oscar.jpg

No, I did not ask for a weiner dog. Already had a hunting dog and two cats. I conclude that my wife must drink a lot while I'm away on business...how else could the kids have sold her on this idea?

He's actually turned out to be a pretty good little dog.

Meet "Piper". The newest member of the Walker household.

Lesley and I are adopting her. She was attacked by some dog or other animal and the owners couldnt afford for her vet bill. Since we already have 3 Yorkies and 2 black Lab's (pics coming soon) we figured why not? She is a happy dog, always wagging her tail.

Thats an incredibly cute lilttle dog. Reminds me of my girlfriends dog. The giant paws on their thin little boddies as puppies are adorable.

Her dogs turned into a monster tho .)

    Default Everyone's favorite

This is Colby on her 8th birthday, now well over five years ago. She always used to get a "cigar" on her birthday until her older teeth made it unwise. Note the regal paw position. She is still the best.

    Default Roxie

This is Roxie. Christmas time last year in the snow up in Lincoln, Mass. She passed recently but was one heck of a nice dog. She was #3 in a series of Goldens that have shared our home over the last 20 years.

Much like custom frames one can never have too many Goldens. #4 is currently stuck in snow in Colorado but will be making her way east to join us soon.

First up is Monti, my foster dog, who has since gone on to his (second) forever home. The recession hit him and his former owners very hard.

Next is Rocky, the red brindle getting a bath.

And last is Chocolat, learning how to use the computer.

Greyhounds are great pets (if anyone is looking). Feel free to PM if you have any greyhound related questions.

I grew up with a rescued greyhound in SW Florida. We lost him when I was about 16, but to this day can still remember the ID and kennel numbers that were tattooed inside of his ears.

Fantastic, loving dogs. While inside they are quite docile, outside they LOVE to run.

I see that you spare no expense for your doggies nutrition. I feed my BC and the two terriers Taste of the Wild also. It's the only dog food that I have used that I never had some kind of bacteriological issue with.
Should we ever have the opportunity to ride together you will understand my avatar.
