Went by mission workshop tonight to say hi to Sacha and jen and see the money truck in person. Six speedvagen on display including SS cx, cx disc, road disc and three of the new urban racers one of them raw. Most vagens in one place I've ever heard about or seen. Awesome

Some more pics of my Rugged Road with Head tube cut a bit and I changed the Headset to Silver from Gold - The gold was standing out too much.

Looking hot! I like that purple bolt in the top cap. Where'd you find it?

Very nice, blue/white/yellow fade? What is the base color going to be?

Matte army green over the Holla Text fade, as seen in the catalogue ... almost went for Molteni Orange, but it would look like hell with my club's cycling kit. Building up with Dura Ace 9000. Can't decide on the wheels ... initially, I'll use my existing Dura Ace 9000 C24 clinchers. But, after I get over the sticker shock on the bike itself, I'm thinking of getting Enve 3.4 or 4.5 or Zipp FC 404 tubulars ... any thoughts / opinions / suggestions in this regard?

my SV Road is en route and arriving Monday. Have ridden Enve 3.4s, owned 6.7s & 8.9s. Went w/ 4.5s for the new Speedvagen. Wasn't impressed w/ the 3.4s, sometimes the 6.7s felt like too much in the crosswinds. Hoping the 4.5s are the sweetspot. 8.9s were only good for TTing.

I'm a tubeless convert, so Enve is out for me--at least for now. I've heard some people riding them tubeless, but Enve doesn't recommend it, so I'd wait until they do, personally. I've got Zipp FC 404s for my Cervelo, but since I've made the tubeless switch, I rarely, if ever use them now, preferring my Stan's A340s. I have no complaints about the Zipps, and they look super, but I don't' know if I truly gain any advantage with them. There is just so much crap on the road here that I'm less willing to chance it as someone always seems to flat on our rides. The tubeless ride so much more comfortable too, and I've seen no disadvantage in my fast group rides. I'll likely sell my Zipps.

You may want to consider the Reynolds Assault SLG. While I've got the disc version for my SV road disc, they also make a non-disc version. They're a great wheel for the money, and I don't believe they're much different than Zipps or Enves save for the $1500 you'll save.

It's a my RCC stem cap. You can choose any color bolt they have, and since I'm a Minnesota Vikings fan, I had to go purple.

All I'm going to say is that the Reynolds 46 Aero responded (they're my wife's) under my frame the way every other aero wheel was supposed to but didn't.

Hi all- My new SVRoad .

Went w/ the new "Ghost" scheme in a Dark Industrial Metallic Gray. Vanilla & Sugar Wheelworks made some small finishing choices that I otherwise wouldn't have (specifically silver spokes & traditional white sb text on the CK Headset .... I would have probably initially chosen black and sotto voce, respectively, but didn't think to specify & I'm thankful I didn't!), that I feel really just take the bike over the top and connect the classic/trad w/ the more modern aspects of the bike.

The new Enve 4.5s are just that perfect sweet spot between the 6.7s & 3.4s, and the bike is just ridiculously smooth & snappy. Consistent with everyone else's reviews, it floats over the rough stuff, while also launching you forward when cranking out of the saddle. And, of course, the fit is superb. Not that this ever the concern w/ an SV/Vanilla, but for full steel frame (no carbon seat tube), clinchers w/ 25mm tires, & the alloy Ritchey seat mast topper (no enve carbon zero offset), the bike weighs 16.5lbs, although is exceptionally "well-balanced" and seems to "perform" like a much lighter ride. ...ahhh the benefits of modern steel!

oh, one other unique detail for a Speedvagen..... routed the rear brake cable thru the top tube, rather than the standard cablestop braze-ons.

show me another Speedvagen Road ---not Rugged Disc which has it routed thru downtube and then PFBB & not a Vanilla--- that has it....

don't like "unique"? how about "atypical"? is that better?... was pointed out to highlight the fact that it's not standard.

    fun place y'all have here.
