    Default Tomii Cycles

I'm a little giddy with excitement at the moment, as I picked up my frame/fork/rack last evening from Nao Tomii. I'll write more later regarding the build and decision making process. In the meantime, enjoy these photographs of Tomii Cycles #12:

Congratulations! Nao's work is impressive on many levels. Your bike is beautiful, looking forward to the details.

I contribute a picture of Nao with his first build.

That stem is absolutely amazing. What are you planning on building it up with?

Some of the highlights are a early 90s Syncros Revolution crankset, Brooks Swallow titanium saddle, and Hufnagel skewers. The wheels are Chris King/Sapim CX Ray/H Plus Son built by the one and only Justin Spinelli. Drivetrain is Dura Ace 7800 with 7900 down tube shifters. On the fence about the handlebars and seat post (debating using carbon). Though, I have a nice early 90s McMahon Racing Components titanium seat post I might slap on. Maybe....

Was pretty psyched this got a shout out from Prolly is not Probably! Nao deserves the good press!

    Anyway, here is it naked:

I'd never paint it. Just take it in and have a clear powdercoat put on it, too beautiful to cover it up!

Coincidentally, here's a recent posting called Why Clear Coat Over Raw Steel is Bad posted up on Prolly is not Probably. It features, you guessed it, Tomii Cycles.

That being said, the paint is pretty stunning in person. It looks fantastic in the daylight.

Geez, tough crowd! I'm 7 weeks out from elbow surgery (medial epicondylitis) and got the green light to ride last week so I'll be finishing up Tomii #12 this week. Here's some updated photos:

Just have to install the brakes and I'm done!

I haven't even seen a shot of the whole bike yet and I would already rate it as one of the most beautiful bikes that I have ever seen. Please get it out on the road soon and let us know what you think.

Just use your feet Fred Flintstone style and ride the damn thing! In all seriousness, even with just closeup photos, it looks amazing. I love the color.
