Man, something about that bike always looks right every time I see it posted. That mash-up of parts just works on it somehow. Looks the business - I think you made the right decision.

Anybody having problems with the integrated headtube cable stops on Havocstaffs? My non-driveside stop keeps allowing the cable housing to pop out when the bars turn far left or right. It's not usually an issue while riding.

I had that problem when I installed some Yokozuna cables that came with undersized plastic ferrules. The ferrules deformed and popped out. I replaced them with some random aluminum ferrules I had laying around that solved the problem. Prior to the Yokozuna cables I had been using a Jagwire kit and their ferrules fit perfectly. What cables/ferrules are you using?

I think the cables/ferrules are the stock SRAM, but will have to check when I get home from work. I took this photo about a week ago, it almost looks like there is a little bit of damage to the frame surrounding the stop. A slightly larger ferrule may do the trick though...

I had that problem with my right side, it is actually a terrible system, looks great but I preferred the way it worked on the skeletor.

I found a larger ferrule (metal not plastic, either jagwire or sram I dont remember) and it still popped out so I epoxied it in there (did both sides so that I would never have a problem with either). Over a year and a half now and no problems at all.

sorry its a bit out of focus but it was the only picture I can find

Thanks for the help fellas! I'll try a larger ferrule first and then, if that doesn't work, go with epoxy.

Yeah, they suck. The Sram ferrules are the best fit but my left one is loose as hell. I've taped the cables together to stop it falling out when low speed turning (or walking the bike out of the garage). Should epoxy it. Or get someone to weld a little loop around it. Or something. Cos I love the rest of the bike. but it hasn't fallen out while riding, so I guess it's good.

Anyway, here's the bike last week:

I contacted a few local welders/framebuilders to see if they had any thoughts, but overall it seems like the epoxy solution would be an easier first try. I'll report back once I finish.

Yeah, the ferrule has not moved in over a year. Its not my only bike so I only have maybe a 1000 miles on it but its a good solution for sure.

I have the worst problem with the old style braze on cable guides interfering with the front brake arm. From what I have found online this is a common problem with some early Skeletors. I was thinking of getting it powder coated so I guess it would be a good time to have the relocated to the down tube. Anyone see why this wouldn't work?
