: ) It's shed season, nice pair of 8.5 antlers were near the road. From the looks of the ends, they hadn't been there too long. Has to be a bunch of energy put into growing those every year. Would have loved to see the buck these came from, he's a few years old with a antlers this big.

Tom: The recent thread in the General Forum on the '1000th' steel Spectrum got me to wondering what serial number my 30th Anniversary is.

Before and after my ride today I looked around but did not did not see any numbers anywhere.

I'm hoping you did not put serial numbers on the Anniversary bikes. Otherwise I might be going blind!

So THAT bike get's handed to the owner and immediately thrown onto a wickedly hard mixed terrain ride...rinse and repeat. Happy customer, great great great bike from the master.

I am the proud owner of the above mentioned Spectrum. Yes, it is awesome.

    A few more details:
    - Ultegra Di2 hydro build
    - Bold post
    - The new Mavic Ksyrium Pro Carbon Disc wheels

The interwebs are full of praise regarding Tom's work and I can attest that it is all true as I have spent the last week pounding this bike on dirt, pavement, up hill, down hill, ....

Perfect fit. Perfect build. Perfect color matching to the intended design.

That's awesome, Brian. I'd say you should ride the shit out of it, but you clearly already are!

Nice! The frame/build speaks for itself. I'd love to hear your opinions on the wheels after you've had some time on them.

If you look back two or three pages, you'll see this bike in its previous home in PA. Was recently shipped a few states to the north. Let it be known I was not looking for this bike. It went looking for me. I already have two titanium Hampstens. Who in their right mind would buy another ti frame? Only thing I can say is that as you get older, you just want to try things that have always intrigued you, bucket list things, kinda like that. Anyway, one 40 mile ride in and I will say, my oh my. This is going to be a fun ride. I am thankful I am married to a very understanding (and amused) wife who gets my curiosity about how various bikes ride. As I said to her, I seem to be investing in rare metals (atomic number 22 in particular) - built into bike frames...

This could also be Lionel's bike, with a taller headtube.

Work and my father's health, or perhaps better phrased his lack of it, has recently meant the only riding I've been doing is on my commuter. My commuter is a fine bike, but as this shot from yesterday amply demonstrates - it's no Kellogg:

I now have over 500 miles on this fantastic bike. Dirt, paved, up, down, flat, rain, cold, ...not much warm and/or sunny just yet.

    Snipped
Looks as though you had a chance to blow off some of the dust from those early rides. Looks great.
