Finally. I had hoped to bring it down to Ballers and deliver it there. No such luck. Ready to go now though. Props to the folks up at Serotta; it is great to work with quality. The fork they sent me for Toot's bike is beautiful. Mike really knows his stuff. You'll just have to check it out in person next time you ride with Josh. Comments and pics:

This is what happens when you have a fly in the paint booth. Every time. The final clear coat had been perfect. It was flashing off for about ten minutes when that fly had other ideas. Of course, the joke was ultimately on him.

And this is what a quick repair looks like:

    img_6109.jpg

Not sure why we bothered painting the name on there. The bike really couldn't be anyone elses, nor could anyone else ride it.

    img_6104.jpg img_6105.jpg

This pin striping is done only with paint and masking. If you go back a couple of pages in this thread, you can see parts of the process.

    img_6106.jpg img_6108.jpg

Big tubes allow for big letters. Just fits.

    img_6111.jpg

And the raw fork before paint:

    And after the paint prep:

Goosebumps here. Man, that's sharp T.K. Good choice with the paint scheme.
The "tall thing"...I get that all the time go figure?
Cross my fingers and hope I can source all the Di2 goodies to build this rascal ASAP.
Appreciate seeing that fork in the raw, it's gorgeous. If that fork has a weeee bit more room than the AlphaQ I might fit 27s.

Proof positive of the Ballishness of this new fork for Toot's old bike. The wheel in there is my Baller front wheel. Nemesis, Challenge Parigi-Roubaix M27. I can't vouch for which calipers will clear the tire, but I'd be hopeful.

Something a little interesting recently. When we build our frames using the full diameter of our custom made 531 chain stays, we need to add to the vertical dimension of our dropouts. These images show some of the process. Our chainstays have the potential to be really fat. We don't always build them that way, but for a guy who is 6'10" and about 230lbs. this is the way to do it.

I must add here these are my all-time favorite chainstays dot period. Tom you did a helluva job on them - They're so versatile and tunable. I cannot think of another unit that works as well for a 105# female rider as it does for a 200# sprinter.

Love to see the level of craftsmanship that comes out of the Spectrum barn; Jeff is the best when it comes to this kind of work.

    Default Just a great bike

Here's my "not too pearl-y" white Spectrum Tom & Jeff build for me last year. Rides great and simply disappears underneath me. That's a little road crud obscuring Tom's signature.

And now Jeff's got Pete's frame in one piece, pretty much.

Jeff's really been busting a$$. A bunch of more work finished up on Pete's frame. Getting closer.

Especially, check out Jeff's seat stay miter: image #:6321.

    img_6321.jpg

Way cool, even after we've done hundreds of these. Click below for the full set. Interesting sequence of a full fabrication.

Tom, do you use some kind of media blasting to clean tubing and joints during the process?

This SS/ST joint look absolutely fantastic!

JK: Yes. We use glass beads in a media blaster both for prepping tubing and lugs for brazing and for basic cleanup after fabrication and paint prep. Helps?
