I'll have to steal a picture of a local's Serotta that was repainted and used the Iron Maiden font. Much better than the original.

My HSG cross has aged very well but the serotta font hasn't (unless it's one of the day-glo 90s one's on a fade paint job), thus the repaint. I would love to see the Iron Maiden look.

I'd posted these across the hall, and the whole story about how I'd sold my Pronto (stupidly) and thankfully had an opportunity to buy it back.. But figured I'd share em here too :)

I like this 1981 Nova Special about as much as any bike I've ever ridden.

That's pretty fantastic Caleb. This is along the lines of all I care about or want in a bicycle anymore. I gotta get something like this.

Post ride living room shot. A few rare, dry road December miles a few days ago. Glad this Colorado III is still in my fleet.

They did a great job integrating the paint job post coupler-ing. Every time I ride my CSi I'm struck just how great the ride is.

It's not the Kirk JKS I want, but it'll have to do for now...

1996 CSI picked up off PinkBike in exceptional condition. Came to me with Record 8 spd group and period-correct wheels/finishing-kit. Swapped all that out to this Record 11 group, put on a Caletti stem that's a bit too short, and some T11/Pacenti wheels. I prefer the ride of my Kirk MRB - but I can also see why these are so revered. The construction is top-notch, and the alignment is perfect. There's really nothing not to like, just a few things that a true custom can do better than even the best production bike...

Boy, it sure does. That is one fine looking bike there.

    Any Marcelo comparisons? Just curious.

    Thanks.

Well, they both are in the wobble-naught category for steel frames -- sit up and eat a bar at speed while pedaling and all is good.

But I find the back end of the CSI to be much more forgiving, and the front end too. There's definitely a bit more flex in the BB, and up front - for the style of riding I do though, that's not a bad thing.

The Marcelo is a great bike. At this point though I'd be more drawn to a Duende, Respo, or the lugged steel one with the amazing fork crown I can't remember the name of...

Are those two different bikes, or is the top pic before you had it repainted?
