Wanted a modern silver group. This was one of two with Shimano and I never fell for it. Went in on a new Potanza group from Velomine and threw it on the RL. It is as good as Athena was and works well.

Nice! 2 lobsters both with silver potenza. Works fine and I love the feel of the hoods/levers

Got a progress shot from Paul last week. Frame's at clearcoat now, so I should have it soon!

Nice bike! This picture makes me realize that disc brakes invalidate the old "point the ends of your drops at your rear brake" guideline.

Jacob's bike follows the "align your drops with your frame pump" guideline.

Current set up on the Rock Lobster. Went back to 2x with the R8000 group paired with XTR calipers. Ended up lighter than the prior set up and the new levers are fantastic!!

Hey Jacob, what wheel tire combo do you have on there? Looks plenty fat and spot on good looks.

How would you compare the ride on this alloy one with the that sweet gray lobster, which looks like steel to me?

Just put 2.1" tires on my "old school" drop bar MTB/all 'rounder. Love this thing. Over the past few months, I've used it on single track, as a touring rig, and commuter. It's just been a matter of changing tires. I never thought I could get this kind of utility out of a bike.

The alloy one rides awesome. Very smooth and no road buzz. I personally like the ride better.
