Ha! We'll have to get out on a ride and tackle some regional gravel in full Rock Lobster style then, eh?

I have found that the trails out here require either a FS VTT or can be ridden on a CX bike (or road-bike with good clearance and room for solid tyres). But I've been riding "MTB trails" on a CX bike for ages, bar anything with a "rock garden" so my opinion may be a bit skewed. This was acquired to replace the rigid 29er that was a total goldilocks situation out here - too much for the gravel and single-track, too little for the rocky calanques.

My rock lobster only sees road and Pave. Took it offload once and got the shit kicked out of me. 28mm is the max on mine. Off road in provence I am on my Trek Fuel EX !

But yes we should ride for sure one of these days.

My brand-spankin'-new RL. I wanted an off-road "all-rounder" (sort of a homage to the drop bar MTB's of the 80's) and Paul designed this incredible bike. It's absolutely fantastic.

Bike pictures from the RL facebook page! Looks pretty sexy IMO, but I may be biased..

Also, I'm sure it goes with out saying at this point but Paul has been just awesome to work with.

Bruce Gordon Rock n' Road 700x43s - Absolutely love them. Gravel, wet mud, asphalt road and hardpack all in the same ride without blinking an eye.

I ran across these pictures of my Rock Lobster from a few winters ago. I got stuck at home without a car and had to get to work. CX bike to the rescue - until the cogset froze up!

That crazy top tube! Is that a Max frame then?

Potenza is essentially Athena/Centaur/Veloce now eh? Or is it just Athena?

yeah full Max with a painted Enve fork.
According to the marketing blurb it's supposed to be between Athena and Chorus - cranks are Ptorque although they cand now be removed without a special tool.

    Here's another pic:

Potenza is closer to chorus than to Athena. It has a cassette w/ lower gears than all the other groups. Seems geared for all roadsters. The crankset is like chorus and record: you can use whatever rings you want compact or standard. derrailleur is closer to chorus as well.

I have to stop coming here because I keep offering that ^^ seafoam a loving home; and I'm sure one day I might have to follow through on it.

Oh wait, that's *exactly* why I do keep coming here...

The only thing I question about my Lobster is maybe I should have gone team seafoam. It may still happen at some point...

Seafoam really is the only way to go. Much as I love the other colors I see on Lobsters of all stripes.

Seafoam color reminds me of beautifully classic Bianchi bicycles in celeste.
