Thanks man, never should've gotten rid of that frame. Unfortunately, I just couldn't handle having a (particularly creaky) PF30 BB and just clear coat on a steel frame. Rode like a dream, though....

(Also, the logos were all painted on not decals)

Edit: My old lobster AND my current spooky quoted on the same page, oh joy!

I tried black Thomson on my celeste Lobster, but I have silver couples so I went with silver Pauls touring brakes, silver King SS hubs, silver Thomson stem and layback seatpost. Pretty happy with the look. I bought a set of gold Pauls as Mr. Sadoff uses a bit of gold on the team bikes, but decided the silver looked too good to change.

I reckon the frame colour is too light for white saddle and tape.

The Brooks dark green leather tape might look nice on this. Not sure how you'd offset that saddle-wise though (raw carbon perhaps? Fizik K:1?).

    Yup, that'd work too.

Check out Carson Leh's stuff too, if custom leather is the route you're likely to take. There's also Recovered Saddle, and another UK-based place whose name escapes me...

Excuse the terrible picture, the white's growing on me- I'll make sure this stem is the right size and angle before I buy a black replacement

With a black stem in the kitchen, oddly 120mm doesn't seem too much of a stretch either!

Those levers look to be tilted up a fair bit with the 120mm? What's the STA on this?

Definitely looks better with a black stem. Agree about the white saddle and tape looking ok too - they tie in with the white in the logo. I still think brown could be a good option though.

Looking at this now I'm regretting not buying it...

    Effective TT 565mm
    Seat angle 73
    Head angle72.5
    Head tube 182mm
    Fork rake 43mm
    From sellers advert.
    110mm feels better though.

I like it. The white helps break up all the black, so I think it works pretty well.

Looks sweet.....One day I'm gonna get one, liked em from the first time I rode with a Yank in Belgium who had one many years back.White looks good with the black, though I can see where Rich is going n I think that would ooze class with the brown.

Last seen at D2R2 and around Massachusetts, the Rock Lobster is now out of the travel case, back in the rotation and fresh off a tune-up with new cages and tape. Red because 'tis the season and red and seafoam are the Miami way to celebrate.

Back for "winter" guise, which means it needs to be able to handle the occasional sprinkle now that we're actually getting something approximating rain. So the Boras go into hibernation and the HEDs come out. The Impero is an early Christmas gift, and the cable is still curly to drive Lionel nuts.
