Default Knife and Saw Bicycle Mount & Richard Sachs

Wanted to do this for sometime...I rode the wheels off this bike than my wife had it repainted / restored back to original color. It deserves it's place plus I have one of Richards Cross Bikes
that I ride now...much more conducive to the gravel roads close by!

Nice. That's a commercially available product?

I hope nobody tells you to put it in the big ring, paint the Silca to match, use Benotto tape, or replace the saddle with a Turbo. Because that would be silly. But look real nice. And I have Benotto tape.

That is one beautiful bike. Per the above poster, pay no attention to anyone who would have you accessorize it in a manner other than that in which you are accustomed to ride it.

Reviving this one. While in Search of a larger RS, I came across this old Sachs residing in a Fort Lauderdale Pawn shop and listed on fleabay, just had to save her.

Serial number appears to be 605 and Campagnolo derailleur is dated 1974. I'm guessing 1977. I'm thinking of cleaning up for the wife to replace her Peugeot. The bike definitely needs some new shoes, saddle, and bar tape. More to come.

I never knew that you had studio pics of the "Green Hornet" Richard. It's still my favorite. Even today it still looks great. Thanks for posting this because any pic I would post just wouldn't do the bike justice.
    Hey watch this!!!:omg:

Beautiful shot. eRichie gave me the choice of Old Style vs. New Style paint and I went with the Old. But sometimes I wonder...

Seems like there are a lot of new Sachs. Here's an older one. #605

I don't care to make it period correct, but I do want to change some things so that it matches a bit more..

it came with shimano 105 hubs laced to mis-matched rims, I think a Mavic and an Araya..
Shimano downtube shifters. GB bars and stem. Campy levers with Dia Compe hoods.

The Wheels you see above are H+Son TB14 laced to Suzue Classica hubs. I feel like things are a bit a mess but it sure does ride nice. Maybe change the shimano downtube shifters for my Suntour ratchet? Everything's in friction mode..

Can you ride it? Does it fit? If yes, don't change a thing. It is perfect.

That blue #605 looks nice. Great shape.
I like the seat stays done like that. They take a lot of time, though.

Remember when there were no bottle bosses on the seat tube (because the pump went there)?

Just received this two days ago. Has Campagnolo down tube shifters now, have a Record/Mavic wheelset en route soon. Need a different stem and bars - might just use my Nitto B132 and some Nitto stem..
