That the Interbike model at the Loft? No glue on the tires in that weight, BTW.

I demo'd the z-5 at interbike... just a short ride,
but if felt fantastic. it's very very solid feeling,
and yet it's got that great smoothness thing that
all parlee frames seem to have.

    Oh! Nice. Very nice!

A buddy of mine has one of those on order, it's supposed to arrive (fingers crossed) in a couple of weeks. Similar model, had ghost decals put on too. Care to share what it's like to ride? What can you compare it to (prev. bike)? How do you like it with that C'dale BB30 crank?

    Congrats.

Comparisons are tough, but I'd say it rides about how I expected/hoped: super light bikes have less material to absorb road vibrations and less material to provide stiffness. This bike feels carefully engineered to get the most out of its material. So when I say it has more road feedback than most of my CF bikes but does not feel or sound plasticky like my first year Orca or first year F4:13, and when I say that it's not as stiff climbing out of the saddle as an AXM (a heavy frame) or a first year SuperSix, that's quite remarkable at the weight. Middle of the (high-end) road characteristics of stiffness and feedback but a couple of hundred grams less in material. That's impressive. Not harsh and not cushy. Goldilocks on a diet. I was looking for a top-end brand's take on a weightweenie frame hoping the extra level of thought put in by Bob Parlee re: ride quality and construction finish would be evident, and that's what I got......judging by the first 45 miles :)

The crank's fine - I have it on the SuperSix too, so no big revelation, just does its job quietly and lightly.

Default Z4 - price is actually going down

Are stock Z2's & Z3's still $6k or did they go up again also?

I had a dealer confirm with Parlee that the price for Z4 next year is adjusting from ~$3400 to $2900. I think it's to even-out the retail line with the intro of the Z5...

Default Parlee Z5 - matte black, ghost logos, sweet!

Here's a friend's brand spankin' new Parlee Z5, build was finished the other day by Mark Purdy at ifixbyx dot com (by the way, if you're in NYC and need a great mechanic, look him up).

    Weight: light!

This ain't no garage queen either, it'll be ridden & raced proper.

Many thanks to Tom at Parlee, who was super helpful in getting this beauty done. Matte black, ghost logos, luscious. It was worth the wait.

    Enjoy...

it's from Edge, they make great stuff.
I usually just buy the stem that goes with the bars,
since bar shape is about my #1 fit thing that can make
    me nuts or very happy.
