They are indeed Campy compatible R45s, fresh from Justin at Luxe. Great wheels. Thanks!

Come on, there have to be more 'Sharks out there showing off some crazy paint! I remember a guy from St. Louis who was in Tucson for a short period back in the late '90s who sported the first LandShark I'd ever seen. Still can't get that bike out of my head. Let's see some more if you have 'em!

nice! out of interest do you have an email for John Slawta? I'm trying to find out more info on my frame - who ordered it, what the paint scheme means etc etc
    cheers

John doesn't really do email. He doesn't mind phone calls and is very responsive. I'd suggest you call him.

Will do - found out my frame was supplied by "Il Vecchio" in seattle.

Here's a mock up pick or two - waiting on a BB and trying to find some yellow Look Contador pedals...

Dusted off the good old LandShark for some pre-season training crit action. Pink tape is in honor of a good friend.

John Slawta makes straight-up racing bike frames. He branded with bacon way before it was cool. Bet his paint will come back around, too.

    He's all-carbon all-the-time now.

Saw that on his web site. Guess that's market forces in action. John was great to deal with. Asked what the bike was for, got the info on me as a rider, built the bike when he said he would, cool paint.... What's not to love about that.

Some pics of my recently built up Landshark Max tubed cross bike painted in 7-11 replica colors. The blue is actually more on the green side, but it's hard to pic up on the camera. It's currently kitted out with a mix of Chorus and Centaur 10speed, TRP8.4 mini V's and an Ultegra crank with FSA chainrings. I had the crank in the parts bin and couldn't justify the $200+ for a Campy cross specific crank with that crappy powertorque BB they're using. Plus I think Shimano BB's hold up better in the muck. It's got a pair of Nemesis rims laced to record hubs, which will do double duty as cross wheels this fall. I sold my Ridley X-Fire to pick this up. The shark has more roadish geometry than the Ridley, which with it's tall headtube made me feel like I was riding higher than I was normally accustomed to. I'm also a sucker for Max tubing.

Name a stiffer fork that is better looking than the Edge/Enve.

Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.

That fork looks like shit on there. Period. No way can you say with a straight face that it compliments the rest of that build. I'm not saying it's not stiff, light, fast as greased boogers, but come on now. Big ass tribal back assward logo and all? C'mon now. That frame looks fantastic and that fork just kicks your eyes right in the nuts. If that fork is painted to match the red, that thing is money. Hell I'll put my money where my mouth is and even pay for the rattle can and some 220 grit. It looks like an Edge bike with a Land Shark frame. Trust me, I have some ugly shit of my own so it's just my opinion.
