A not-too-dusty Planet X bought from across the hall last year and built up by Tristan at Wheelworks.

Waiting for the right stuff to come out- have a specific build in mind- nonetheless I am anxious to ride her.
New to me, bought here from the front man for the Doors- looking forward to some adventures.

I had my old Steel Deluxe repainted this summer. Thanks to Chris Dorman for facilitating the paint, and to Chris Dornbox at IF for the decals and some color advice.

I got it built back up last month, and I've had it out for a few rides since. The paint doesn't make it ride any different, but I think it makes it more fun to ride.

    Hi Jason,

That's an awesome looking bike, care to share the details of the bike? Wheelset, groupset, etc? Thanks in advance and enjoy your bike. Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul. It's actually a 29er frameset I picked up off of ebay once I heard shimano was going to be making hydraulic disc brakes for road bikes. I got to see the build sheet in the listing and figured I could effectively run the thing with drop bars or with risers depending on where and what I'd be riding. The build is pretty straight forward save the front derailleur. I'm using a Dura Ace because it was all I had sitting around. I had to grind away at the back side of the clamp so that the arm could be pulled down enough to push the chain out to the outer ring. The shifters were 6703's for a triple. The extra cable pull works like a trim adjuster and buys some flexability. Since the picture, I picked up a set of bar end shifters. The thought is that I can run paul thumbies on a flat bar and the barends on a drop bar, allowing the same shifters to work on both set-ups. Truth is, I really prefer STI's and the barends may just push me to buy the new hydraulic disc sti levers.

Rear der is a 6700, cassette is a typical 6700 ten speed 12-28'ish, cranks are XTR with a 40 large ring. I thought I'd need a bigger outer ring, but I can hit 40 on the thing and don't need anything more. Feel free to ask questions.

I was in a shop the other day that had 3 Ti Factory Lightweights around. One belonged to a guy from the shop. One was a customers in for service and one was presumably for sale. I have a total crush now. If any of you have one, post some pics and help me feed my obsession!

I think that answers the question you've been pondering for awhile now ....
    Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.

    Those things are so pimp.

I particularly like this one from Blacksmith Cycles, though the loud blue or orange paint jobs are great too (provided you have the legs to back it up.)

Yep, studio Velo. I name dropped you and the guy at the shop pulled his personal bike, a red one, out of the back. They had a black/dark gray one with ultegra and a silver one in for service. So hot.
