Don't really know how the geo compares to a CX bike. Longer wheelbase. Longish stays. Don't know the rest. They're the experts.

They told me 8 to 10 weeks. I've been calling every 8 to 10 minutes to see how they're doing. I think they love it.

In all seriousness, I hope they're busy as hell. The person I talked to on the phone told me 8 to 10 weeks. I wish I had signed this off sooner but I have been swamped with work and selling my house and finding new lodging, etc. I have enough downtime but I just never got around to doing this even though the design has been finalized for several weeks.

I'm not in a huge hurry but I'm hoping to have this for some late fall gravel rides, maybe around Thanksgiving or so. That said, if it takes all winter I'm fine with that. It means IF is busy and we all know a busy shop is a good shop.

Having had this bike for a full season now...I can't think of anything I'd change about it.
Fork clearance is super tight with 25c Vittorias and Michelins on wide rims, so this'll never be a dirt road bike, but it handles crappy roads easily, and with the deeper wheels on it, feels easily as fast as my old CAAD at speed.

    Jim,

It's built around a longer wheelbase and a lower BB for stability at speed, and of course tire clearance.

However it is, it's going to be awesome. I'm really looking forward to it and my buddies and I are talking build details constantly!

    Steel Planet Cross
Changing out a few parts and pending a steerer cut yet ride quality is superb.

I've been doing Pilates for a whole year this month, and it is paying off in flexibility and position on the bike.

    Original set up

New set up. Bars are 2cm lower, stem is 2cm longer, and bar-shape is different. I can ride in the drops, and my hips don't tuck under me. I was worried it was too much, but I've been riding this set up for a week and it is great. I feel like I am over the business part of the bike, in a more centered position, and better able to drive the pedals. But I couldn't have done this a year ago.

Saddle position isn't right in photo I notice. Bah.

I noticed that in addition to working on core and flexibility, taking 15 lbs off my middle also helped getting lower:)

Totally new kind of bike for me. Disc brake gravel road bike, premium Ti, Shimano (I'm historically a Campagnolo rider), fatter tires, etc. I'm excited that this will allow me to broaden my viewpoint. Maybe even one day purchase one of these new, so-called 'mountain bikes'.

I think you'll like it. If you're accustomed to moving wheels from one bike to another, it will be frustrating having the disc-bike in the fleet. Other than that, I cannot think of a single thing about my "gravel bike" that I don't like; in fact, I don't even think of it as a gravel bike anymore. It's a road bike with disc brakes.

I would wager you could lose another 5mm-10mm of spacers by tilting those bars back a few degrees to bring the hoods up (which would carry the added visual benefit of aligning the angle of the drops with the angle of the stem, but that's just me being a pedant). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you need to, or should - just that you could.
