Here is the MAX after today's ride. Ride number 2. Seat post set properly fellas. ; )
Put 110 miles on it this weekend, the ride is amazing.
By the way I want to thank Velobran and Matthew Strongin for joining in for the first ride. Flanked by a Gaulzetti and a Zanconato was a nice way to break it in.

The bike looks great, Artie! The paint is fantastic. Looking forward to riding again soon.

On Steve request… with Grand Bois Cypres.
Took it out for a short ride yesterday just before dark. Those wheels/tires seem to transform the bike, really impressive.

Would you tell us more about this -- how is it transformed? Bike is stunning; the tire just look "right" on it!

And who is that guy in the window taking a picture of you taking a picture of the bike? :)

Well, obviously the improvement in plushness. But I was surprised how great the handling and steering felt. They roll fast and don't feel sluggish at all, even though they're some 400 grams heavier than the Neutrons.
I guess it all adds up. The custom geo, the ti, the forks, the wheel and tires.

Nice photo! - which tires are those, exactly? 26, 28 or 32? Blue or Green or however GB labels their tires? I may need to get something other than Pasela 28's for my SB.

I love the ti treatment Hampsten does - don't know what you call it, but it has a beautiful patena and sheen.

    Thanks!

Thomas, those are the green logo Grand Bois Cypres.
The packaging is labeled 700C x 30mm but they measure 32mm on the 21mm DT rims.

From what I understand, the Hampsten finish is just a straightforward Scotchbrite pad brush treatment.

Almost: first we hit the frame with a Dico abrasive wheel on a high-speed drill then we follow with the Scotchbrite finish. Touch-up is simply a matter of some slight SB action by the customer, some Pedro's Bike Lust, and blam! - good as new.

Steve, I thought you were a Lemon Pledge guy. Is Pedro's something new, or do you use them somewhat interchangeably on ti?

Took the MAX out for the first gravel test today and it shined. Smooth and fast, the rough roads definitely bring out a whole different side to this bike. It continues to wow me and I
couldn't be happier. Installed Roly Polys for the ride today and they are cush but surprisingly agile and responsive. 50 miles of gravel with some brutal headwinds on the entire first leg.
A few pics from the half way point.

BTW - the chain stays are truly gargantuan / Dario-esque.

It is. As offered at the Hampco Yard Sale. I asked Steve to change the red decals to white.

Either is fine but the Pedro's is nice as it's non-aerosol and has more uses here.
