Thought I would post this up for you guys to see. Just swapped over all the parts from my CDA but haven't had a chance to ride it other than around the block. My gut instinct says I will like it a lot.

Where have I seen that black one above? Was that an eBay find? 62cm, I think? That you got for a steal?

Yeah, 62 cm with a 58 top tube. I exchanged several e mails with the seller while the sale was ongoing. The bike was his dad's who is a friend of Douglas Brooks who helped with the design. I wasn't sure about the extended head tube but it just looks well proportioned.

image-1685957635.jpg I received this picture from the seller. It is his dad, Douglas Brooks and some other guy. There must be some kind of 3 degrees from Kevin Bacon here somehow. Mike

Don't know why the pic is upside down.

You will. We should organize that Funky Buddha bikes/beers ride. My boy Rick has a Jonathan Greene on order so it should be a nice custom showing here isn SoFla.

After much discussion about the freshen up of my SBTi here are some pictures of the complete bike.

    SBTi_redux_3.jpg

    SBTi_redux_4.jpg

Some asked about the build specifics. Dura Ace 9000 group, except for the brakes which are long reach BR-650. Wheels are Alchemy hubs with Pacenti SL23 rims built by Ergott. Stem is from Firefly. Seatpost from Moots. Chris King headset and bottom bracket.

Needless to say I am stoked.

I know that exact feeling from my first Hampsten and the feeling is awesome. Congrats!

I'm in the queue for my next, and I'm practicing patience -- and I suck at it....

Gorgeous! Love the look, and the Firefly stem looks great too. Steve let you design for a straight seatpost, eh? Not sure I've seen many Hampstens with straight posts, but the aesthetics work well. Congratulations!

    Thanks!

Regarding the seatpost, honestly I don't remember much about why it's that way. I gave Steve some numbers and pictures of me riding. We talked. He designed. Bam!

I imagine that post is used to position me in the proper place between the wheels and make the best of my funky geometry. I have very long legs for my height. I'm always amazed Steve could design a frame that doesn't look odd considering the saddle height is 80.5cm. Top tube is 57 cm with STA of 72d.

No wonder that bike looks so right to me. Those are my measurements. My arms nearly come out of my hip bones.

I very much like the attached beer can. I take it the bike is meant to be ridden in Belgium preferably.

Ha! While it would be a fine ride in Belgium notice the beer was a Lone Star.

What was Hampco thinking there? Terrible design blunder that is. Well, nobody´s perfect in the end.

Huh? Designed by hampco and loved by jscottyk. Not sure where the blunder is. Or am I missing something?
