I saw this bike several times during the SF 115k populaire last weekend--a very handsome bike!

A few more shots of my Hampco. I remain impressed by the paint, which is downright dazzling, especially when seen in the shade on a bright day, as in the photo of the bike leaned against my friend's Rivendell. The other two photos are, well, more self-explanatory: the obligatory Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz shots.Attachment 56297Attachment 56298Attachment 56299

Yes, indeed, that was me. The photo of my Strada Bianca up against the Rivendell was taken in Pt. Reyes in the empty field next to Bovine Bakery. Did you and I talk? I met a lot of people that day but am not good with names. What were you riding?

Steve is recommending the Enve fork for the MAX-centered tubes used in the build. I'll follow his advice and it's consistent with my desire to have a "timeless" look to the build. Yes I'll have 11-S Record components, but with 32 hole x3 cross wheels and Challenge Strada Bianca tires.... skinwall if I can find them.

I'm leaning towards off-white custom paint, red block Hampsten logo/boar on headtube and maybe 2 red stripes on the seat tube. I have a blue/black "Why Not" Pegoretti, a blue/cream panels Chris Kvale, a candy apple red Gunnar and a carbon black Colnago C50, so white seemed like a change of pace.

Absolutely! Decided on the steel SB to make the finances work on the Record bits. I thought about selling my Pegoretti to finance this project, but then came to my senses...

    Very cool!

The reason I was curious about the fork is because the axle to crown measurement of 380mm on your schematic. I am also looking for a fork that length.

Wisco's bike will use a Seven Cycles medium-reach fork - we call it a 380, they call it 383 (axle-to-crown) - great fork, multitude of rakes.

Steve575's Hampsten XCr from the classifieds is on its way to me... So. Excited.

Out of town for most of August (in Seattle coincidentally!), but will post pictures once I have it built.

The Strada Bianca arrived earlier this week; I finally got it together today and took it out for a spin in its element. Thanks Steve, this rocks!
