Looks great, Darren. Buying that stem and then figuring out that it's too long probably belongs in the bicycle purchase confessions thread. I have a bin of Moots spacers—I'll drop one off for you to clean that puppy up.

    MIN, very sharp!

Pictures from Spain. Outside of Santander (nearby to where a few of this years Vuelta stages were), and Madrid.

That asymmetric band of crema on the left fork leg is perfection.

    Steve/Cody
    That is one helluva bike
It matches the dimensions on both my bikes......except the front centre which is 610 vs 599
Can you tell me what difference it would make to handling, if any, and how you adjust the front centre for each rider
The only other diff is Cody has a 7cm drop mine in 4.5cm , does this affect it or is it a riders position behind the bb?
I am at 8.5cm (Aliante saddle tip)
    Many thanks

More HampCo perfection... Eriksen-built Strada Bianca ti. Clearance for 32mm tires with ease.

Gorgeous, happycamper. What's the difference between having Erickson do it vs in house @ hampsten? Or maybe there's not and it's just a preference thing?

Steve could provide more specifics, but each builder has his secret sauce. Kent does some nice tube shaping—it's hard to see from the angles of the photos, but an example is the subtle flair of the seatstays. Also, Kent E's welder, Chris Moore, is one of the best welders on the planet imo. Preference does have something to do with it—I'm a dyed-in-the-alligator-skin Moots fan, so having a frame built by Kent E has been on my list for some time. Can't go wrong either way.

P.S. The ride with the 32mm Dugast's is sublime.

    the current differences are:

kent's turnaround is currently 2-3 months, our in-house stuff is at six months and growing

we do a polished/brushed finish, kent does a bead-blasted finish

as bill mentioned, kent loves shaping and bending the tubes more than we do. but we use butted tubing here, when requested, and tapered chainstays on many builds

i like the welding on the kent bikes but honestly, i think our welder - max - gives more of what i like to see. but it's like choosing between a ferarri and a lambo for your next road trip...
