Thanks everyone. I have some more shots here: Hampco MAX - a set on Flickr

Here are a couple of them:

It's Delphin Grey - an old BMW color. But I think it's very similar to yours.

So specs - it's built around the last Alpha Q CS-25 that Steve had. It's the "sticking point" for clearance. It'll hold around a 30 sans fender, and a 25-6 with a fender. It also has 35mm Honjos that Steve fitted for me. The plan is to run the larger tires during the summer, and keep it fendered during the winter. Basically, its a road bike that holds fenders.

I rode it to and from work - about 30 miles so far. I'll get a better feel for it over time and report back. The downside is that my knee is effed up, so no long rides for me until that is taken care of. I had planned to take it it D2R2, but that's not going to happen this year. My quick reaction: as stiff or stiffer than my Peg Fina Estampa (which will be available shortly...) and it handles exceptionally well. Frankly, the bar was high with the Peg, and it's as high with the HampCo. I think that is high praise indeed. (Only peers and all that). Great welds and paint. Steve exceeded my expectations. All of you should give him your money.

That is a great looking bike, would not have thought I would like the look of the carbon fork but since no lugs it looks fantastic. Hope your knee improves quickly.

Quote most likely to appear in Steve's VSalon signature.

I think it's great that you actually had an idea for your color. I just walked over to the IF board at NAHBS and asked them what was the paint code for their stock dark gray. Heck if I'm going to be the one to pick one shade of gray out of 100.

    Cody -

Wow!!! Congrats to you and Steve! That is a stunner of a bike - get that knee healed up so we can convene the DC Hampco Rally! In the meantime, I'm ready for some low and slow rides. We'll talk soon.

And there is just something about those BMW greys. I used to drive a 1983 BMW 320is, in anthracite grey. Your choice really speaks to me!

I actually tried to look at the Pantone charts at work. That wasn't going to help. I had a couple of friends with cars in this color, and thought, what the heck - it reminds me of some good times from my youth. And I think we'll have 100 different shades of grey soon. Between, yours, mine, JamesNYC's silver, and that Crema Classico across the hall, we're covering the grey spectrum well.

Cody that bike is sick. Nice job. Rode with a guy who had a baby blue crema that is from your area. i think his name was Ben.

Still needs some adjustments, maybe some extra links in the chain, saddle tilt, etc. Real photo shoot once it's dialed in. For some reason I don't think Andy would approve

Hey X, did you send your bar and stem to Spectrum too? Or did you have it painted somewhere else? Either way, you've got a very proper one.
