What stem are you running? BTW, the rig looks great.

    Thanks!

TRuss, it is indeed a team pro with fenders. I believe Steve slightly tweaked the geometry for the 40mm honjos and fatter tires.

The stem is a Nitto UI-5GX.

Pretty much perfect- what size Honjo fenders are those? Do they rattle?

Thanks! They're the 40 mm honjos. No rattles. Sometimes if I hit a pothole, I'll hear a slight clank, but otherwise I don't notice them.

Really beautiful, nycjames! Another Hampco masterpiece. I'm hoping to add another Hampsten in the not to distant future...

James I hope you don't get upset when my imaginary team pro gets painted exactly like yours.

Oh. I'm stealing the blue accents too. I can easily change it though. That's the one good thing about having an imaginary bike.

Spent the weekend building up the Hampsten Gran Paradiso 953 from RJR. Campy Record 10 group with Tune wheels.

beautiful frame. another thread said something about some other builder being more 'modern' or something of the like than hampsten, but it doesn't get much more modern, in my opinion, than something like this (certainly in terms of steel). steve is cranking out the classics in two broad styles -- more 'traditional' lugged classics (although still modern, in my opinion) and 'modern' classics like this (the above bike will still be awesome in 20 years). just about every bike that pass through his hands looks fantastic to me.

That 953 is about the newest looking used bike I've seen. I first saw that bike when it was still Steve's back at the Hampco headquarters, and it still looks just as new.

This baby Strada Bianca was 7 days old when she hit the Austrian and Italian Alps. A week of climbs included the Zillertaler Hoehenstrasse, Rettenbachferner Glaeschierstrasse, Grossglockner / Edelweiss, Timmelsjoch, Jaufenpass, Silvretta, Piller, and Gerlospass. A few of these are among Europe's toughest, and I totalled 45,000 feet climbing, two snow storms, a mud slide, and a nasty stomach virus in a week of fun. The bike shined its best on genuine Italian strada bianca. Overall comfort astonished me and vastly exceeded the non-custom bikes that preceded it. It seemed to absorb 75% of the road vibration felt on my 12-year-old steel bike. I love and highly recommend Steve's frame.

Details: Strada Bianca, welded at HampCo towers, butted and bead blasted ti tubing, Campy Super Record compact, Moots stem and seatpost, Chris King, DT Swiss white hubs and rims with Vittoria Pave tires (alternate setup is Hed Belgiums with Roly Poly tires and Honjo fenders), Handelbra, Fizik Aliante, a bit under 17 pounds
