It's tough to tell, but there's a SBTi in that picture -- taken nearly 10 years ago to the day.

You couldn't get the plane to turn DS toward you to match the Hampco rocket?

Was lucky to visit my Hamsten last week, and squeeze in a ride. I have really been missing it lately... so smooth!

You gotta love a racy, red Hampsten.

Or does it need a swoopy bent steel fork? Both are very nice and red is a fast color. I love the Piggy and the Smiling Andy logos with the white logo on red paint. For all the color pirates (stealing other's bike colors) their "Swiss" pattern with red head tube and seat panel over charcoal main color is a stunner.

It's been quiet here lately, since we are doing the red bike thing I'll share this from the cutting room floor.

New wheels! I built some wheels to run tubeless. I’ve always managed to get tubeless tires to seat with soapy water and pumping my trusty old Silca like mad. However, this time I just couldn’t get the rear tire to seat. So off to the local bike shop for a quick burst on an air compressor. They’re Continental 5000 TL, 32. Running 60 psi in the rear and 40 psi up front to start.

(Btw, 1x is great for the road. I plan to transition a few other bikes to single ring as well).

There's another SBTi in this photo too. Nice place for them to hang out.

@hampco - I don't think I can contort myself to fit on this one (and don't have the extra scratch), but I'd love to hear the story of how this bike came to be if you have time to spin the yarn..

Hopefully Steve will chime in, but this is a bike that Pegoretti made in 2007/2008 to commemorate Andy’s Giro win. Pretty sure this frame is too big for Andy, so perhaps Pegoretti made more than one (in an interview Andy mentions that he is waiting with anticipation for his commemorative frame from Dario). Pretty rare beast in any case, and it looks to be in collector’s condition.

It's a long-ish story and I'll tell it soon but I'm pretty sure that that is 1-of-1, supposedly in Douglas Brooks' possession with an agreement to sell it back to me at some point. I'm a little shocked to see it for sale here.

    Wow, that is stunning!

But that should've ended up back in Hampco Towers, for sure.

I just hit the buy button, coming home to daddy. Who sells a one-off Pegoretti for $4200?

I've wondered if that pro closet is a magical portal to other closets ...

Finally some good news in this crazy world.

$4200? Just think what TPC paid the seller!

Unless that got passed along some estate sale chain, anyone with that bike should have known to reach out to you directly.

Wow! Well, I'm glad this ended well and that my late night surfing of bike listings finally did some good (I will be sure to let my wife know) :) --- and I sincerely hope that they worked a better deal out for you than the listed price..

Still interested in the complete story behind it too when you have time.
