Team Pro that will take 30c with short reach brakes.

Frame is mostly Lambo Grey/PPG 0098

2 x 20mm stripes on the seat tube and lug highlights in Corsa Red/PPG 75250.

(And thank you Steve H for the pics)

Steve and I need to have a conversation about that!

I already have a set of black Archetypes on silver WI hubs laces 24 - 28 for wheels and keep going back and forth between silver Athena or Chorus. Leaning towards Athena as it gives me more gearing options for my aging engine, and is easier on the wallet.

The fully-sloping crown is a nice, non-standard touch.

Components settled out with downtube shifters, compact crank, Ti post, and the faux Aspin rims. Marvelous machine.

Default Carbon Hampsten makes the scene in NY

    Love that Hampco Gitane!

My carbon Hampsten arrived yesterday (some pics in the postman thread):

This is a dupe of one of those but maybe you didn't get over there:

Yes it is. I have 9v on another bike, and it's really too many for downtube shifters. At least for how and where I ride, because I usually grab 2 or 3 gears at a time.

You know how contestants on game shows jump up and down and squeal when they get picked to play? That was me yesterday when the Fedex truck pulled up;-)

FWIW, I friction shift a 10sp rear and it works fine IMO, though needless to say the lever does close to a 180. However, the shifters are Retrofrictions so that may be what makes it work well....they tend to shift more like indexed than 'normal' friction shifters. Also, as you can see in the pic, I use a short piece of cable liner to help increase the effective diameter of the shifter.
