Default Stainless Steel fork for new FF XCr build

Mike Terraferma built the fork for me. KVA Stainless blades and Sachs drop outs. It's on it's way up to Boston now to get mated to a new Firefly stainless steel build.

It's designed to maximize clearance with 700x28c tires with short reach brakes (Mavic SSC brakes). Will be finished to match frame, bead blasted with polished logos.

Pink area indicates bead blasting. Silver is polished.

Just got my new Hunter fork and Jamie was nice enough to install it for me down at Firefly HQ. Haven't ridden it yet as I've been sick. Hopefully soon!

Whoa! I'm going to get my car detailed behind there tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll (finally) stop by.

I knocked on the doors just after 9. Where was everybody? It already looks different from the photos - you guys are working fast!

    Sorry I missed you.

    Default Fin

I had some Velocity P35 rims hanging around in my shop so had them built up to see if I could run them with the Schwlabe Super Moto tires, which are 2.35s. They indeed fit and now measure at 2.5" (63mm). This is exactly the same width as the Maxxis Hookworm tires, which is the tire the bike was designed around. The major difference is the weight. 630g per tire versus 1125g per tire. Anyway, so far so good.

Bead blasted XCr with polished logos. No metal head tube badge. I like the logo polished. Looks super clean. Fork is Terraferma KVA stainless I posted earlier finished to match.

Long and low built for max clearance with short reach brakes and 28mm tires.

A little Sachs appeal in front.

Henry, I'm so glad you made Firefly do something in steel again, especially something so damn awesome. That finish is just gorgeous. I cannot wait to see that thing built up.

That bike is beautiful, and the fork matches perfectly. Tell us about the build...
