With an impending house purchase, I've been waffling on whether I can 'survive' on a Trek Checkpoint or something similar as an all-road bike.

Your post has reminded me that I cannot.

Unless you are already in the queue, you’ll need something to survive on till it arrives. I believe it’s 14-18 month wait at this point, which is why I’m thinking about getting back in the queue for a coupled all-road version. This one is technically the road, not the all-road. It still fits these 28s which measure about 31 on wide rims without any issue but some of the chunky gravel in my area is better with something in the 35+ width.

Don't worry, things are already in motion. I'll survive with my rim-brake gravel bike until D2R2 2021.
