Gorgeous bike and AWESOME pic of the Stelvio! I was able to take my coupled ti Hampsten on Andy's Cooking and Cycling tour back in 2006, fun riding with the man who's name is on the down tube. Would be really fun to do the same on a Merckx!

This is mine, again. I bought it in '06. Sold it to a guy here. He thankfully just sold it back. Eddy, I'm so glad your back. Built like a brick shithouse.

Lot of tall Merckessess here. I think that may be the first Team Slurpee painted MXL I've seen. Is that it's original colors? Either way that's a hot sled.

Not a MXL, this is a custom frameset with Maxx tubing , very rare. Longer top tube than most Merckx rigs in this size. Unfortunately the original cranks that came with this rig were toast.had to take it to my LBS to get them pulled. They are 180 arms. Aanyne have any 175 8 speed campy cranks?

Nice rig. While searching for new cranks, do yourself a favor and source a new stem as well. Those Syncros stems are not reliable.

My old ex-Axel Merckx. (Imagine riding a bike with your old man's name on the DT.) Way too big for me resulted in wonky set-up as seen so I sold it. My current MXL is a 57.

That's the same color I painted my mid-90's race bike(Ritchey). Road bikes are pretty awesome when it comes to getting your moneys worth...

That is just a cool color! My first inclination is to call it Bianchi's Celeste, but then it's not!

Guys, I have no idea about the color. The powder coating was done 2 years ago and the frame was stored until last week when I found the decal set on ebay. At the time when I had to make the decision which color to go for I just had a picture of another bike (NOT a celeste Bianchi) and send this pic to the coater as a reference to the coater. Basically he decided and I'm totally happy with it.

Back in the '90's Ford had a similar color for it's pickup trucks. Not sure how close they are, but when your painter looked through the books he may have landed on it.
