Built with a mixture of Campy 10 SR, Record, and Chorus parts as well as a debadged set of Reynolds DV46 (I have both clincher and tubular versions).

A weekend of rides lies ahead - Very excited!!
Very nice and proportioned, not a big fan of Reynolds wheels though

On the day that Dario left us I was riding around Lake Como, ending up at La Madonna del Ghisallo, happily pedaling my Marcelo.

been difficult to accept... he was a hero to me when almost all my other heroes were already dead. honored to have known him, even if not that well, and grateful to be able to ride his creations.

I can buy this beautiful ciavete MxxxxxO 2015 showroom model but there is no Columbus decal on it. Someone who knows if there is a reason why the decal wasnt always on the frames?

i have no idea about the decal, but wouldn't give it a second thought... only one company makes those stays, anyway.

this frame looks like an abstraction of the la vie claire frames to me.

I’ve had 3 Pegoretti frames and only one had a Columbus decal on it.

Double-drooling. So many gifts to us from Dario. Happy for all those who are enjoying them.

This was the only Peg for me.

    A go-fast bike.

    Beautiful paint, to my eye.

    Think it was 1999.

I know this is a gallery thread but I thought I would ask this here since there's a large concentration of current owners in the thread. My next build was going to be a Pegoretti and I was hoping to get him to do my paint in Ciavete which I understand is whatever he wanted to do and you get what you get. I was fine with that. Well, I've obviously missed my chance outside of what might currently be on the market.

Given that I reached out to a couple dealers and only got a response from only one. After a bunch of indirect back and forth where he wouldn't answer my direct question, "do you have a frame in my size painted by Dario himself", it finally comes out that he has one. He won't let me see the frame because I'm not local and he won't send pics of it. Something about preserving the sight unseen nature of the Ciavete scheme, like if I'd ordered it originally I wouldn't be able to see it so he won't show it to me now. Ok, I guess I sort of get that, but there's also a hint that if I was there in person he would let me look at it. I find it a little weird as it isn't quite the same thing...the frame is in hand and I'd obviously like to see it first.

He quoted a price of almost 8,000 USD for just the frame set and this is the core question. I have no idea what these are going for now, but my understanding is that this is really very high about 4 months ago. Any thoughts on the pricing? Is there some opportunity grab happening here?
