Dig the head tube extension. What does it look like from the rider's side? Does it match the motif on the front, which looks like a bird thing-e? And that fork crown is sublime...

Words don't do it justice. Striking and sublime all at once.

Very nice. A classic "muted" ride that doesn't scream atcha but ya still know it's "there", nicely done.

adirik, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that yours is the bike that stopped me in my tracks while driving up Mt Eden Rd with my un-seatbelted twin boys. We chatted for a few minutes at the top of hill while I slobbered over your bike and dreamed of adding a Luigino to my Responsorium-in-waiting. Ride it in good health.

This Luigino is a contender for the VS gallery top 5. Every detail of the frame/build is perfect.

Guys, thanks for all the compliments!

jimi: The motif on rider's side of the head tube is the same as on the front side (except for the bottom half of where the head tube joins the top tube).

Montesquieu: Yes, I was the guy on the Luigino you spotted on Mt Eden Rd a couple of months ago. How long have you been waiting for your Responsorium? I know that Velo Tech recently had a bunch of Responsoriums (or is that Responsoria?) that came in recently and I was wondering whether one of them was yours.

Brent: Good question on the bars. Until now I had thought they were Nitto bars, but they don't look like other Nitto bars that I see on the web. I had the build done by Tom at Velo Tech cycles (Palo Alto, CA) and he picked out the bar for me. Perhaps someone else can ID it for me?

Its the Nitto M19X (I read the model near the clamp). Sometimes called the "Neat" or "STI". Not quite sure what 19o series bar it is, possibly the 193? Can be tricky to track down in the states depending on how many make the boat to distributors. I think they changed the graphics.

    Marcelo, stock 50, Baci paint.

Purchased about 6 months ago from Above Category. Woody and the crew run a fantastic operation.

Build, wheels and photos by Dan at Shifterbikes.

Stiff, heavy and mean as fuck... and when the screws are turned it's the only bike I want to be riding.

The Nitto bars and stem, as nice as they are, were out of the parts bin and are soon to be replaced something more suitable. More pics when it happens.

    Noice! Love the build.
Dan makes great wheels - her indoors has a pair for her Tommasini and they were masterfully built!
