here is my girlfriends crumpton that shes been riding on for the season. Nick was gracious enough to sponsor 3 women on Team Hotel San Jose, based out of Austin, Texas.
I have been meaning to post this for a while now, because shes not the type to post her bikes on forums. First off she has been kicking ass on it and you can follow them on their blog http://thsjwomen.blogspot.com/
she also has a Parlee Z4 and is happy to say that in her opinion the crumpton outperforms the z4 in every category. namely stiffness, she is a crit racer and loves the handling. I wish this was her typing and not me because talking about this bike and how it performs brings a big smile to her face, and she could go into much greater detail.
these are older pictures, but its basically the same setup

Isn't that an apples-to-oranges comparison? The Z4 is a stock, Taiwanese-built frame and the Crumpton is custom, no? Shouldn't it be Parlee Z1 to Crumpton?

it was built to the same measurements as her parlee i believe, except for a lower bottom bracket. it should be a z1 to crumpton comparison, but still a z4 is a pretty nice bike

yes she does the TNC in plano

Yes, most definitely. There are plenty of wheels and tires that would totally ruin that icy-but-warm austere look this bike has, but the wheels there now harmonize perfectly. And the new stem is much nicer.

As a rule, race bikes and carbon don't move me at all, but this one is absolutely charming.

Is that crank from a Cannondale, or does FSA use that same "Si" logo on the cranks they sell under their own name also?

That is a gorgeous bike. All of these Crumptons are Teh Hotz.

    Default Handlebra'd Crumpton

Feels great...looks cool. Only problem was trying to explain to my wife why the thing I was wrapping so carefully around my bars is called "Handlebra". I'm super happy with it though. The combination of the leather and a Giro Lusso glove can't be beat.

Just to be very specific, flat black with a gloss clear over it, or flat black with a clear incorporated in it (which I would assume is also called "flat clear")? I ask because there's a fair amount of sheen on that paint job vs. what I think of as flat black/matte black.

that is what they call a single stage matte or "hot rod" flat. single stage meaning not a base coat/top coat. they are very difficult to shoot to a consistent matte finish so slightly more material means less flat but more consistent.

the flat clear bikes(visible carbon) you have seen from me is a flattened clear, i have better luck getting a consistent flat finish with that stuff.
