TMK, how many Baum's does CE have now?

After seeing the nude photo's of your track frame I cannot for the life of me figure out why I bought a generic stock carbon frame recently.......oh yeah that's right....... couldn't afford anything else at the time.

A change of cranks to a set of the carbon Dura-Ace 7800s:

Also loaded in the Mad Fibers that are waiting to go on my new Baum and took them out for a spin - awesome wheels.

Holy Crap...I'd all but forgotten about those cranks. I don't think I've ever actually seen a set out in the wild. Cool!

How do the Mad Fiber wheels compare to the Lightweights that you had on there?

Exactly why I wanted them! Finally found a new set and couldn't turn them down. Had to change the chainrings though - the standard ones have far too much silver to work on my bike.

The Mad Fibers are ace. You definitely feel crosswinds more on them, but at 60 and 66mm you're always going to! Difficult to compare like-for-like as these are tubbies and my LWs were clinchers, but stiffness is certainly comparible. The tubbies make the MFs feel more comfortable though.

One thing is for sure, the MFs make an AWESOME noise!

    They're awesome to ride though.

Besides, they're going on my new Baum.

..at least they were - until this happened:

Well, to be fair the new one is also partially purple so they'll look good on that too - I just can't stop riding them now though, and I only have my Corretto to ride!

I thought I'd share the new bike I put together for my dad...

    Baum Corretto Titanium

    Custom Geometry, triple butted frame
    Hand painted frame, GTA style
Satin white, Ghibli blue Monza Red & black
    Enve 2.0 fork
Dura Ace 7900 full group set
    Enve 44cm bars
    Fizik bar tape
    Enve 130mm stem custom painted
    Enve seat post custom painted
SMP Evolution Saddle custom covered inb lack Kangaroo with red & blue stitching by BusyMan
Enve 45mm Carbon Clinchers on DT240s hubs
    Continental GP4000s clinchers

It is under 7kg - not bad for a bike made for dad who is 100kg/6ft..

    Ha! Thanks.

I'm actually sat at Sydney airport awaiting my flight to Geelong to collect my Ristretto as we speak!

    And here it is:

Not ridden it yet because I'm not well (which is driving me INSANE - I'm busting to ride it!) but I can't wait to see how it compares to the Corretto.

It's slightly heavier at 7.1kg with Mad Fibers compared to 6.5kg on the Corretto (even being Ti and with an ISP), but being quite a big steel frame that's no surprise, and is still a decent weight.

Oh, and I should add: I do intend to colour-code the red bits on the groupset!

You're going to be spoilt for choice now!

Very nice, but I really struggle with those wheels.

Just thinking out loud...............I reckon the new Dura-Ace stuff would look superb on that frame.

I *love* the wheels, but ultimately they belong on my Corretto (even if they were originally bought for this!) and will be going back on that. I don't think they look as good with the matt grey for some reason.

I'll probably get some 303s, SES 3.4s or HED Stinger 3/4 FRs for this when I can afford to.

Funnily Enough when I saw the DA9000 kit I thought it'd be perfect for this. We'll see - it only makes sense if I go all out and change the Corretto over to DA9070 Di2 as well so that wheels swaps are less of an issue, and that'll be expensive!

EDIT: Besides which I'm a SRAM man at heart and I'm still hoping they do something electronic that I can switch the Corretto over to!
