I have my reasons. No need to air dirty laundry here though - besides which, you already know the answers.

There are many other people out there that have bikes built by Baum cycles and are over joyed by the experience. Most of them are lurking on their bikes rather than on the internet talking trash about them.

It's funny how many people say they were talking about a Baum and some guy Rich was sooking about how bad his was... I usually link them to the comment from richard Sachs telling you that a handful of the worlds best frame builders can't all be fvck ups, it must be you... Hahaha.

Then they go and buy a Baum and live happily ever after.

    Sincerely, C*nt.

I consider those more 'private conversations' than 'trash talking on the internet'. I've had 3 bad experiences now so - irrespective of the fact that they ride well - if someone asks my opinion I'm at liberty to share that.

As I say above, I have my reasons and, despite your closeness to Darren, you probably don't know the full story.

To be honest I don't really care and Darren hasn't said a word about you. There are enough respected people out there singing his praises not to worry about one naysayer.

Anyone racing with a Baum Ristretto ? Would like to know how would u compare a Ristretto with an Enve 1.0 fork to a same setup carbon bike ... both costing the same as final setup. For amateur racing ... masters ...

Would you buy it again ?

    Trash talk...that's a bit of a reach?

A frame that is a premium (I prefer the term over-priced) price was faulty, people asked what was wrong and Rich has explained how it was...I think you're taking it a bit personal...

I take it personal because I started this thread to show my bikes and share with like minded people through the world. What usually happens is this:

Perspective customer posts "I'm interested in a Baum... Your thoughts?"

Perspective customer is contacted via PM by Rich to tell his terrible story - there was a minor mistake on a bottle cage mount that Darren offered to replace the frame, but Rich wanted a full refund - to which Darren complied... This was 2+ years ago...

Perspective customer ponders Rich's PM then contacts me... Tells about poor experience of Rich and asks if I agree or have any thoughts.

I say of my own experiences, some customers buy, others choose other products...

    Life goes on...

This has been happening for quite a while. It starts to get annoying. I'm not an official spokesperson for them, but I really enjoy my Baum - I ride it lots, it's my every day bike. I've crashed it, I've lost races on it, I've won races on... Oh wait that should say "won *A* race" hahaha! At the end of the day, it's a bike. I don't need it to define me, it's not something I put up on a pillar. I love bikes. I have quite a few of them... Varying in quality, material and nation of manufacture... All are unique, all have their "quirks" as I will call them... You don't him find me rubbishing manufacturers on the internets.

This is a gallery with far too much talk... More pictures!

All I'm going to say here is that:

    1. I never did the contacting to anyone who has asked me about Baum
    2. There were more issues than just the bottle cage

    But...

No idea why the 1st photo was upside down - agreed, it initially put a whole new light on a bike from 'down under' :)

I will return to my initial point, my Corretto is a wonderful bike and I will just keep riding it :)

Nice bike! Reminds me of the one they had on their website home page with the Lightweights... Basically the reason why I got a Baum... Good to flush you out of lurking!
