Default ANT - Alternative Needs Transportation

It appears that there is no ANT gallery, however I assume that Mike Flanigan and ANT require no introduction here.

I've had this bike since 2010, so a post is overdue. Boston Roadster. Homage to Iver Johnson and Major Taylor.

This is the bike that I'll most likely ride with my wife when we're (too) old to ride other bikes.

Sturmey Archer S3X "sex" hub rear and Mavic front in the Luxe built wheelset. The rest should be plain to see.

The bike rolls and rolls and rolls. In fact, it glides. Silently. It is the ideal townie/cruiser.

Other than the truss, it's somewhat stealthy for a handbuilt. The bars are somewhat absurd, but they demand a casual riding position which in turn dictates how and when I use the bike. It's truly a luxury to have more than one bike, and I always feel fortunate to have this one when I ride it.

I hear Mike's building again... just saying.

Thanks for posting this! I’m not an owner, but dreamed for quite a while and remain a fan. Well done on getting, and keeping, this one.

Holy shit that is amazing. There was a Boston Road in crimson of his on the bay earlier this year that I missed. I have a fixed gear frame of his that is sadly rusted out at the BB from too many Boston winters. Love Mike's frames.

    The Mavic hub is precious.

    Good to know.
I dig Mike's approach to bicycles. This one is a beauty. Thank you for sharing.

Love this damned bike. It’s a tourer but I use it as a winter, rain and canal-path rig

TTX1's black truss-framed bicycle is so remarkably cool. Love it!
Even the big Roly-Poly tires are a superb and good-looking match.
