Someone over on Reddit asked the same question recently. Here's the link to that thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/Framebuildi...on_windows_10/

about a year ago, Java added some really obnoxious security. I forget if it affected bikecad, but the java tubing notcher program people have online doesn't work without some serious shenanigans

I was trying to launch it from the desktop. I moved the file and everything works perfectly.

Can anyone point me to a resource for more information on the Jig layout? I have a Bringheli jig and not sure which option to use.

    Hi
I am not that familiar with the bringhelli Jig

The question is more about, which parameters you need and maybee it is a good idea to addthe bringhelli jig to rattleCAD

Can you provide m a sketch with the important parameters?

    cheers Manfred

Thanks for the response. Let me see what I can put together. Below is a photo of the jig. I think that the standard RattleCad option works but I'll do more measuring.

I've never used a Bringheli jig, but my understanding is that the rear end is fairly straightforward to set up, but that locating the headtube is a bit more challenging. The rear measurements are seat tube angle, BB drop and chainstay horizontal distance all of which are on the "MeisterJIG" option.

For head tube location, the head tube fixture piece moves horizontally on the backbone of the jig and can rotate. There is no way to independently move the head tube vertically up and down independent of horizontal movement because the head tube fixture moves up and down on the backbone along the head tube angle. So if the head tube is at 73 degrees, moving the head tube down 1 cm along the head tube fixture only drops the head tube .96 cm and also increases the effective top tube length .3 cm.

There are several threads about how to set up the bringheli jig in the forums, and this is one way here: Bringheli Jig Set Up-ANDERSON CUSTOM BICYCLES If you use that method then you are using the X and Y coordinates also on the "MeisterJIG".

Thanks Dave. That was very helpful.

I agree that the rear end is straight forward but I was having issues around the front end. I read the Anderson link about a year ago when I purchased the jig but a house remodel project sidelined my framebuilding plans.

... rattleCAD is a private project and supports standard (diamond) bicycle frames only.

I was just on the site, and I'll admit to being pretty illiterate to software and computers (though I use one in my day job pretty much full time). Anyway, maybe I just missed it... Is there a MAC version for Rattle CAD?

rattleCAD is script based and runs on every plattform.
all you need is a tclTk environment available at your MAC.

I think it is very cool that it is written in tcl/tk.

Takes me back to the nineties. :-)

Actually I think it's cool too. So far I've just used BikeCAD and I'm no fan of Java.

I built a MacOS friendly version of rattleCAD based on rattleCAD 3.4.04.21, containing 2 plugins
... rendering your project in 3D via FreeCAD
... replace Fork in an existing frame

please send me a private message

Can I hide certain dimension? I don't want to know anything about the saddle, standover etc.

    Hi Evgeniy
I was thinking of this. Currently there is no standard way to do it.
If it is very important, please leave me a private message.
