Do you already know how to make bike frames?
Do you want to step into the nineties and start dabbling with Aluminum?

Oh man I would love to do this, but I need to get some frames under me first. Is this going to be a one time thing Mickey? Would he make room for a noob? Big heart well mannered, believes the future of frame building is in aluminum.

Way under priced...
I attended Carl and Frank's aluminum frame welding seminar Saturday. They did a great job making it fun and entertaining. Below is the email I sent them to thank them:
Hi Carl,
I just wanted to drop you and Frank a note to say thanks for the great class. Lots of great information and the ability to pick the brain of a guy with Frank’s experience is priceless. I learned a lot, from materials and filler, machine settings to all the subtle details about joint fit up and when to align, etc. All the little junk you could spend years chasing your tail before you got a good process down.
Having hosted a few training classes myself for various things, I know how difficult it can be to get the material across and still have a low key and fun environment to keep everyone involved and engaged. I think you guys did a fantastic job and I am really grateful I had the opportunity to participate. The food was awesome, too by the way.
I'm going to hit him up for a painting class in the spring: Metal Guru
Here are some photos and details from the recent Metal Guru seminar taught by Frank The Welder.

Frank Wadelton AKA Frank the Welder will return to Metal Guru to conduct a second aluminum frame welding seminar on Saturday May 4th.

thanks,
~Carl
What level of ability would you expect a student to bring to the class?
I've built about 10 fillet brazed frames, a few lugged, and I've TIG welded but never anything as thin as bike tubing, but my TIG sucks. Would it be better for me to learn to TIG a bike frame before taking this class?
Thanks,
Jim
Hi Jim,
While there will be an opportunity to do some practice welding, the seminar is mostly Frank discussing and demonstrating the techniques used in aluminum frame building.
This seminar is meant to provide a starting point for those interested in aluminum frame building.
Thanks,
Carl
would love to attend..........I'm local, planning on buying spooky, weld for a living........but, my sons first communion is pretty important to us.:unsure::unsure:
