Ultegra Di2 Internal routing
Hi,
I have a customer who's decided that he'd like to run Ultegra Di2 on a bike we're building him. He'd prefer internal routing. The frame's almost done (no paint yet). Obviously I'd rather do this sort of stuff before the frame's completed but is there any reason I should avoid internal Di2 with a completed frame?
Cheers
Steven
Re: Ultegra Di2 Internal routing
How big are your bottom bracket breather holes and where do you intend on putting the battery?
Re: Ultegra Di2 Internal routing
Hi James,
breather holes from BB to downtube are 14mm so should be no problem for the internal rear connector I think. Battery is going to be external (downtube bottle cage but I'll add a boss).
I think my main concern is BB>chainstay brather. I think the chainstay might be too far outboard to avoid the bb cup. Worst case scenario is I can drop the cable out of the bottom of the down tube round the shell and back in at the underside of the stay.
Cheers
Steven

Have parts in hand and mock it up. Sounds like you have a plan, but give it a run first.

Yeah, I think it'll be fine. I'll have the parts but I'm just making sure there's no gotchas lurking.

I have a PDF copy of the Ultegra Tech Info if you want a copy. Let me know and I will email it to you. It contains all the dimensions for the holes necessary to mount the system.

That would be great Jamie. I have an older tech manual but without Di2 stuff. The UK distro is sending a new one out to me but I don't know when it'll get to me.
