Re: Bottom Bracket Post
Curt,
No it's good to keep this kind of stuff coming. I have never used a table before my first bike was built using fixture-less techniques. Just trying to add tooling to speed up the next (current) build. So would you recoommend the inserts end where the chain stay's enter? It seems that would be your concern? That if any overhang is left when those are brazed they would need to be chased out in order to slide over the post.

Re: Bottom Bracket Post
My only "concern" is if the post OD is a tight fit with the bb shell ID then every time you heated the darn thing the shell might not slide on the post. That would be tedious. As far as chain stays, I always leave them pulled back in the shell about 1mm. This allows for a nice silver fillet. It also keeps silver from flowing into the threads which puts more wear and tear on your bb taps. Plus it just looks proper.

Re: Bottom Bracket Post
I've got the Bringheli table. He provides a removable insert for the bottom bracket. Sort of a thick washer. That way, the user can choose. If you cut the step off of your post, you could screw it on and off as needed or drill it out to the right size and just slide it on and off.

Re: Bottom Bracket Post
I wanted to follow up and share what Todd Farr created for me.
A couple months ago he machined two stainless 303 BB inserts for my JIG (80/20) and was great to work with. I decided to keep bothering him :) to make me a BB post. I am very happy with post and working with Todd was a pleasure. I would recommend him/tooling for sure.
Thanks again Todd.

Re: Bottom Bracket Post
Travis,
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate you allowing me the opportunity to make the two sets of parts for you! Glad to see your table up and running.
I do have some material left in 3" (4130) and 2-1/2" (4130) and 1-1/2" (4130 and 303) from doing jobs like this for Travis and some other Velocipede members. If anyone is looking to get a BB post or new cones for jigs or what not, we can work a sweet deal.
Let me know,
Thanks Todd.
