Rody, just read the tips and tricks, You da man.
When I grow up I want to be like Rody.
Thanks for the words on the PMW yoke. Now that my yoke bike is done, it looks nice and is super stiff. But I spent days bending and filing to get hooded drops attached to them. Makes my day to hear a Pro verify it's as big of a pain in the ass as I learned it to be.
The guys at Fat-bike.com did a nice overview on Jeroens bike...

will be built up next week for a visit/pick up from Arizona
Woah, that's nice
Thanks, I was very apprehensive about committing to this particular scheme, actually sat on it for a day or two to be sure I was still excited about it before moving forward.
Customer allowed me the creative rope to hang myself, only dictated that it must be pink with vanilla.
He's dying inside to see it, but wants to wait until he flies in next week to ride the finished product.
cheers,

If he doesn't like it, I'll take it:)
I am a bit rebellious and refuse to send a customer frame out for stiffness testing just so I have the privilege of purchasing a part. So I fab'd up my own.

The cog is turned concentrically in the lathe, a separate 4 point engagement threaded insert is fabricated, then it is all placed onto the weld fixture where it is sequentially welded to maintain position and limit constriction of the thread.

BAM, I 'aint no corporations BITCH.
So who requires the stiffness testing? Is it the belt vendor?
Actually, it is Rohloff that requires the testing, being performed by Gates/Spot for them.
Even more absurd, if the frame passes, there is the added requirement of using a pressure snubber on the rear cog to maintain belt position.
Ridiculous overkill.
Rohloff has a great product, it is a shame they are so resistant to moving forward and improving the products capabilities.
@Gattonero...
allows a Gates belt to be used with a Rohloff internal hub, as below.

Not when compared to having to send a completed customer frame away for "stiffness testing" while you and the customer wait twiddling thumbs for the frame to return weeks later.
Besides, some times it's fun to embarq on such projects just because you can :)

Chris wanted a desert crawler for shooting around the trails in Sedona; I was happy to oblige.
