to stop worrying about work, not much i can do to make it better besides just doing the best i can with my projects. (out fall of this is i get to be more engaged with my wife and kids, which is a very good thing)
Make a decision on where to live. In other words, move to Minneapolis where my heart lies or move to one of our domiciles, which is what my head tells me to do. Or both..... But something's got to change.
I don't want to do the usual things about quitting drinking or losing weight or riding more. They inevitably end up as failures. But I did just join the YMCA, so maybe there's hope of one of these things happening, preferably the weight thing. That's a good environment for that to happen.
Predict: we will go off the fiscal cliff and nothing will happen.
Predict: the chaos of the world will slowly be replaced by a status quo no one can imagine currently.
Predict: the Toronto Blue Jays will win the world series over the Washington Nationals.
Ride on a more consistent schedule.
Find more interior calm.
Spend more time with my wife.
Go to Italy.
Predict: Tea Party joins the ranks of the BullMoose, Know-Nothings, etc...
Resolve: Start letting people in again.
We won't make it to 2013 because the 21st is just 14 days away.
Predict: A project I am involved in with blow up (in a majorly good way)
Resolve: Spend more quality time with family, listening and enjoying their company rather than just being a body with a head full of distractions.

Predict - I will keep taking on projects despite my ADD and inability to focus on finishing them.
Resolve - To not take on extra projects despite the extra income.

Predict – The rampant stupidity displayed by Democrats and the GOP will continue to amaze those who are easily amazed.
Predict – Simon Cowell will introduce another “talent” show for network TV.
Predict – Gangnam style dancing will invade wedding receptions and football tailgates akin to the spread of the Electric Slide and the Macarena.
Predict – Alberto Contador’s team won’t be invited to the TdF, and for the first time since the mid-nineties I’ll fail to watch two years in a row.
Resolve – Ride, rain or shine, every single weekend of 2013.
Resolve – Be a better husband.
Resolve – Be more efficient at work, so I take work home less often.
Resolve: Sleep more
Resolve: Build a CX bike and ride it- a lot.
Those two will pretty much cure all my ills.
Predictions:
- 2013 marks the first year during which the Republican party is forced to either change or die. They have become an opposition party with nothing but obstruction to bring to the table and everyone knows it.
- Federal regulation of marijuana is discussed seriously and it is legalized elsewhere around the world.
- Spain and possibly other eurozone countries will experience Greece like financial woes but hopefully with less reactionary fascism as a result of austerity measures forced upon them by Germany and other financiers.
- Anthropogenic global warming will no longer be disputed by skeptics and undermining, polluting corporations. The white house will start to throw weight behind renewable energy and other efficiency measures.
- The cost of space flight will be reduced to previously unheard of levels and it will spur further innovation and investment (OK this might still be a few years out)
- Cycling: The doping bell cannot be un-rung and sweeping changes will be demanded and hopefully seen through before the 2014 season. 2013 could be a huge mess IMO...
Resolution:
- Try to control my substance abuse and self control problems :(

Al Quaeda will resurface in the news as a serious threat in several countries
The European Central Bank will implode with news of corruption
World food prices will skyrocket to record levels
Democratic Party will become increasingly divided over debt, energy and guns
2 Supreme Court justices will announce retirement
Tea Party will strengthen and consolidate power at state and local levels, red state/ blue state poverty divide will increase
Resolved: reconnect job to heart, finish the damn home improvements (at least the big ones), put a solid personal finance plan in place

I resolve - To ride harder in 2013. This year has been good from a rides/miles/hours standpoint, but I need to put myself into the hurt locker more often.

Everything is touch and go right now.
My employers are still in town. The big group has been here three months. They usually extend, but keep saying they'll leave after the new year. hoping to get a couple more months of work out of them. The small group has taken 2-year leases in midtown. I hope they find enough work for me to keep from having to find a straight gig.
I'm anticipating a new band this spring. Some great players and a big name or two. It all hinges on my buddy actually moving to NY from the west coast. I give it a 50-50 shot of actually happening. And if he does move, I'm in over my head, as I haven't hit a drum since July. Still, it'd be nice to play some gigs to larger crowds, and maybe do a proper tour; buses and hotels and money and knowing I'll be able to eat. Hell, it'd be nice just to be playing again.
Hoping for a break in 2013. Fingers crossed.

Prediction #4: Fabian Cancellara will ride the entire Paris-Roubaix using a Frolov Device.
LA will be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Prediction: SignatureJustin guest curates The Art of Wardrobe. Things get better.
Prediction: The Jerk says "fuck it," starts reading John Grisham novels and listening to Pearl Jam.
i quit smoking in sept and started crossfit 2 months ago (addicted). i predict i'll be capably stronger than i've ever been this spring thus better on the bike and in the water, safer in the water too. i resolve to do my first solo all night sail. i resolve to lessen my fear/increase my knowledge of the ocean and spend as much time in, on, and around it as i possibly can. i resolve to not let my attention span, which is so freaking short there really is no span to it at all, get in the way of doing nice long rides and getting lost while doing so. i predict i'll be even more clueless as to whats going on in the wrld and my lecherous womanizing man-child ways will increase in exact proportion to my success rate, which of course will continue to plummet w/no bottom, so to speak, in sight! can't wait!!!
