I am planning to do the Morgantown 200K this coming Saturday. First event of the PA Randonneurs' calendar in 2013. You guys ever head south and ride with those folks?

I might. I won't be in any kind of shape to be thinking of something like that but I've never been too bright and there's no sense in starting now. Ceceri does a great job with these, I highly encourage you to head over.

I'm down in southern westchester. I'm thinking if I can't be fast, maybe I can just ride long. :)

Saw them both, but both are a hump of a drive from Long Island. Mr Google Maps says 4 hours. Essentially requires an overnight stay since there's no way I'm leaving at 2:30am.
I really wish someone would put together something like this "downstate". The NJ Rando website looks inactive for the off-season.

This will be my first brevet with them. I've done others, just not with that crew. They have an R-12 series, so there is at least one 200K every month, even in winter. A few of the rides are in the NE part of PA, perhaps not too long of a haul.

This is only 152 miles from my home, so a better option. Probably warmer too

I've had nothing but good experiences at the ADK events, myself.

Well, one bad experience but running full bore on a hot and windy day drinking the wrong stuff was my own fault.

Tom and the gang are good peoples. I use it ride with them while I lived in Philly. Eric Keller who contributes to this site also does some rides. Beware! Tom routes can be awfully cruel towards the end if the ride. Enjoy!

Yeah, it was well organized brevet. Definitely a good, cold! ride. A hard ride too, considering the time of year. :) They sorta front-loaded the climbing on this one - after mile 60 it was fairly smooth sailing. Rode it with Eric and a fella named Keith. Eric was was a little under the weather when he was doing it but persevered.
