should be at your favorite venue
in a future year, here's one:

don't laugh until you get to the end of the analysis ---> miami beach
it sounds crazy but when you put all the elements together perhaps not

the bad

1. not centrally located and therefore difficult to attract driving attendance
2. not the best roads for distance cycling activities during the show

the good

1. excellent convention center facilities ::: Miami Beach Convention Center ::
2. nearby airports with many flight options including direct throughout europe...
3. ...may be the first nahbs to attract a large group of european exhibitors
4. many hotels within walking distance at every price point...
5. ...no need for any participant to deal with a rental car
6. within south beach for walking access to abundance of restaurants, bars and clubs
7. strong cycling culture including fixed gear crowd

Living in Fort Lauderdale, I'm all for this. We'll have plenty to do here. There is also the builder Clement who makes track frames (for the track - not the street). Miami was one of the destination for tourists (in the world) for 2010. Also - great weather this time of year and plenty of nice places to stay.

Also - there is PLENTY of money in SE Florida - just look at the number of private planes, luxury cars, million dollar yachts and high end cars (ferrari's, lambo's bentley's, etc) - Yes, most from South America - but they sure do spend.

Louisville-2013.
Negatives:
1.Weather is unpredictable that time of year.
2.No international airport(although it's called such)
3.Indianapolis was only a few years ago.

Positives:
1.Coincide with CXWorlds
2.Amazing bar town, especially for belgian specialty beers.
3.Bourbon
4.If weather permitting, mountain biking in city limits, road riding opportunities easy from downtown
5.Cheap hotels in city and large convention center.

Move the date up a month and have it over CXWorlds week. Louisville will be biking epicenter of the US for that week.

Downside: NAHBS will have already been in San Jose and Sacramento.

I think NAHBS has history of staying in Northern California two years in a row after leaving Texas. So Sacramento for 2012 and Oakland 2013 definitely fit the bill. As someone else mentioned, clockwise rotation is in play. So my guess is Seattle 2014, Madison WI 2015, Providence 2016, and back to Texas 2017.

Everything Miami has (minus toplesss beaches) from an infrastructural perspective, you don't take your life in your hands walking the streets, you can send the wife/kids off to Dismal World while you play at the bike show and the natives speak English.

your guesses smell like mine. i was certain of a west coast/ish venue next, and seattle would work great for me. sw flies there direct from bna, plus a bro in town-who was with us at Portland. love to get up into the middle coast (somewhere near peacock dominguez), but dingdangdamn in winter.

doesn't matter- let dw name it, i'm there. keeps that part of my life simple.

Convenient for me, inconvenient for everyone else, makes CA/OR/WA seem close and will preclude complains about venues in those locations in the future. Great weather this time of year. Interesting riding for a few days. Lots of bars and great food. 72 degree clear ocean water. Lots of hotel rooms. Easy access to Japanese/Chinese/Korean enthusiasts. Lots of local riders. International airport convenient to town.

Honest question here- what percentage of frame builders in the US are on the east coast?

I know we have a HUGE concentration in the NW and California.

That doesn't make it any easier for guys on the east coast, of course, but do westerly shows make more (or equal) sense from a show perspective?
