Garmin battery level other than at turn-on?

I am a recent convert to a Garmin 500; really like it other than only being able to see the battery level when I turn it on. Seems backwards to me; I would rather see it when I am done so I know if I need to charge it. When am ready to head out it is of minimal value/too late to do anything about it.. Any way to see it other than when it is booting up?

I think you can see it if you enter the settings menu. It should be at the bottom of the screen. I'm not at home to check, but I seem to recall seeing it there.

yes, if you hold down the page/menu button (bottom left), it will show you the battery %. it's not easy to read while moving though.

I held down the page/menu button (roseyscot noted above) and this is the screen it takes you too. It's the 86% in the middle of the bottom.

Forest for the trees! I didn't look fully at that screen, I scrolled immediately past it as I assumed you were referring to a Settings screen it..

No problem! I used to make a living providing idiot level explanations of technology. It's one of my only marketable skills. I only know it's there because I switch bikes a lot and go into that screen regularly.
