External BB/24mm crank compatibility?

I know there are certain combinations of FSA BB's that you can shove Shimano Hollowtech II into (the tolerance is tight), but has anyone ever tried any Sram cranks with any Mega Exo BB's? I'm simply curious for a spare parts single speed I'm throwing together. If I was putting together an important bike I'd just buy the right GXP BB.

GXP doesn't play w/ MegaExo.

Only the drive side of GXP cranks is 24mm. The non-drive-side is stepped; there's a bearing seat between the spindle and the taper, rendering it totally incompatible with other 24mm BB/spindle combinations. (Unless maybe you have a BB with a sleeve press-fit into the NDS bearing, which could, in theory, be pounded out...)
